Two of the most reputed and respected vapes and manufacturers in the industry. The face-off between the legendary Storz & Bickel Mighty vs. the confident Arizer Solo 2.

These are two portable dry herb vapes that sacrifice a small form factor for improved battery life, performance, and user experience. Commonly recommended around the interwebs on places like Reddit, we’ll dive into which we think is better and why.

Mighty vs Arizer Solo 2 Ease of Use Comparison

Well, they’re both quite easy! Of course, both manufacturers include a set of instructions in the box, however, one of these comes out a clear winner – the Arizer Solo 2.

The Mighty is so easy to get excellent results with and no matter how you pack it or grind your herb, it’ll kick out excellent clouds of vapor.

The Solo 2 is slightly more complex to load, however unloading and cleaning couldn’t be easier, hence why we give it the win here. That glass stem can just be soaked in isopropyl alcohol to clean it all up, while the cooling unit on the Mighty can be a big pain to tidy up.

They both have digital displays, though that on the Solo 2 gives you more options regarding session time alongside a few other minor details.

With that in mind, they’re both well simple to use, however the Solo 2 with its convenient glass stem system is practically unbeatable in terms of simplicity and cleaning.

Mighty vs Arizer Solo 2 Battery Confusion

They both have behemoth battery life compared to the vast majority of portable dry herb vapes out there. The Solo 2 however leaves the Mighty in the dust on this front.

Usually, people net 10-15 sessions per charge with their Mighty, which is excellent considering the power it puts out.

The Solo 2 will yield a whopping 15-20 sessions per charge, depending on how you use it. It just never seems to die, and for a person who likes to have multiple sessions throughout the day at home, the Solo 2 couldn’t be better.

They both use non-removable DC-barrel style chargers which truthfully isn’t our favorite, seeing that if you lose the charger, you’re out of luck until a replacement comes in the mail. Being non-removable batteries too hinders their long-term life as well.

Mighty vs Arizer Solo 2 Bowl Comparison

Here is where the Mighty starts to make back some ground. Rather, takes a big leap to even up the game.

The Solo 2 features a bowl that holds between 0.1-0.2 grams of dry, ground herb, which is average. Many units have a chamber this large and it’s good for 1-3 people at most.

The Solo 2 is partial towards a conduction heating element with some traces of convection coming through.

The Mighty? The large bowl accommodates up to 0.35 grams if you pack it in there a bit. With their incredible hybrid heating format of conduction alongside convection, the Mighty has one of the best heating elements out there.

It’s worth mentioning too that the Mighty accepts Mighty dosing capsules that can hold ~0.125 grams a piece, rendering it an excellent option for microdosing.

The Mighty definitely has the superior bowl & heating system here, even though the one on the Solo 2 is still quite good.

How are the Vapor Qualities?

They’re both very good and whichever you choose, you’ll be satisfied with it. That’s not a good answer though and the real winner is the Mighty. We’ll get into why.

To start, the Solo 2 has excellent flavor. That pure glass stem imparts no additional flavor to your herb and you really get a pure experience with it. The vapor density is good but not ‘cloud’ level unless paired with a bubbler.

The Mighty is that and more. While we give the Solo 2 the benefit of best flavor, the Mighty just hits so hard. Big, fluffy, dense clouds for a very long time. The draw is nice and open, the flavor is top-notch, and the seemingly endless clouds are exceptional.

The Mighty has long been king in the vape scene for this factor alone and we can’t deny it – it’s so good!

Mighty vaporizer vs Arizer Solo 2 Vapor Quality

Is the Solo 2 or Mighty Vaporizer more portable?

Not very. The short answer made long – they’re home portables. The Mighty is rather more portable as it’s shaped differently and can be put in a pocket, while the Solo 2 is like a can of Red Bull with a fragile glass stem.

It’s not uncommon to break a mouthpiece or two over the years with the Solo 2. This being said you can definitely bring the Solo 2 on walks and to the cafe, but not very practical for bringing it to the bar, club, or any outing where pocket space is limited.

The Mighty fits in a pocket but think of it as 2 XL-sized phones stacked together. It’s big, it’s hefty, it’s bulky, and looks like a Walkie-Talkie.

Neither of the two is particularly discreet on the premise of size alone, and they’re best considered home-portables/heavy portables. Chill day at the park with friends? Totally fine! A nightly pub crawl with the lads? Perhaps not.

Manufacturer reputation and dependability

Both Storz & Bickel and Arizer are very highly respected in the scene and have become the benchmarks for what a good manufacturer is.

Both teams handle warranty claims with pride and the build quality of the units or top-notch. Sure, defects and problems still do exist, though they’re rather uncommon and always dealt with promptly.

In terms of build quality, both units also pass with flying colors. The Solo 2 has a gorgeous machined body (especially Mystic Blue) which feels great in the hand and is a joy to use.

The Mighty goes the other direction with a finned black body that looks like a power tool rather than a vaporizer. The trade-off you get with the plastic is a lighter overall package and durability. This thing is TOUGH.

It’s hard to give the point in this category as both units are extremely reliable and both companies are great, so we offer a tie instead.

Which to buy – Mighty vs Arizer Solo 2?

This is where the difference becomes more apparent. If you’re still not sure what’s best for you between the Solo 2 vs Mighty, this category will sum it all up for you.

Solo 2 – Best for the part-time toker. If you’re not so serious about getting completely blasted and rather like to sit down and sip on some coffee or tea and herb, the Solo 2 may be a better fit. Easier to clean, excellent ‘forget about it’ battery life, and a very pleasant experience overall.

The vapor density isn’t as high and it won’t get you as high as the Mighty. Does that matter though? It’s one of the best units for passing around with a partner and watching a movie.

Mighty – Big, big hits. It’s a performance powerhouse and will just keep going and going. What it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for with the bowl. Microdosing is great with the capsule system and it’s better for tossing into a bag or pocket for a day out.

If you’re out and about more often for your sessions or would like to share with a group of 3 or 4 people from time to time, it’s a better choice.

Conclusion

They’re both really good portable vaporizers and you’ll be content with either. The Solo 2 being more attractive, simple, and cost-effective is a terrific choice and has always had great feedback. It’s not so great as a portable but for leaving around the house or taking on a brisk dog walk, it works great.

The Mighty on the other hand is… mighty. The hits are endless, it has a very nice and satisfying draw, big clouds, and more durable than the Solo 2.

In all fairness, cleaning the Mighty is a bit of a pain, the battery life isn’t as good, and some people aren’t fond of plastic constructions. It’s more expensive but makes up for those facts with a very smooth and powerful vapor.
