The Volcano Digital desktop vaporizer is a lot like its relative, the Volcano Classic in many ways, with two very important differences. The Volcano Classic has been the go-to desktop vaporizer for near a decade now, with manufacturers Storz and Bickel putting an emphasis on longevity of their products. The Volcano Digital offers everything the Classic did, with a bit of extras.
Unlike the Volcano Classic, which uses a dial, the digital uses – you guessed it – digital controls. There are no temp indicators on the Classic unit, which is one of the main reasons why the more expensive digit was created in the first place. Because you’re getting more accurate temperature indicators and more controls with the digital unit, you’re obviously paying more for it.
Volcano Digital Temperature Setting:
The Volcano Digital has a temperature range from 104 to 446 degrees Fahrenheit, just like the Classic. This unit also uses three LED lights to display heating up, control and air. The red button/ light on the left powers up the unit and starts heating. The orange/ yellow button indicates the unit is working when on, and turns off when it’s ready to go. The green button on the right turns on the fan and lets you vape away. The unit takes three full minutes to heat up, which is a bit long, but the wait time is worth it. The vapor quality satisfies even the toughest critics.
Volcano Starter Kit Valve Options and Replacements:
Should you make the decision to buy a Digital or a Volcano Classic, you will choose either the easy valve or the solid valve kits. Regardless of which of the two you decide to go with, you can rest assured that the two of them are sturdy and well made. There are never any bad odors with the bag kits, either – provided you clean your units frequently enough.
When it comes to the easy valve kit, the balloon bag and mouthpieces are designed for replacement when they start to smell or taste badly. They call it the easy valve kit because it is simpler to assemble and the parts are easily disposable. The bowl on the two Volcano desktop vaporizers is made of thick plastic that resembles the ones found on the Mighty and the Crafty, Storz and Bickel’s portable vaporizers.
With the solid valve kit, you will be vaping with a more complex system – involving bigger, heavy-duty mouthpieces and balloons. These parts that make up the solid valve kit were designed for cleaning and reusing over and over again – but you can purchase replacements also, should you need them.
