Boundless CFX Vaporizer Review – Impressive Battery
The Boundless CFX is a versatile and powerful portable vaporizer that can vape both dry herbs and concentrates. The Boundless CFX is a larger and more expensive older sibling to the Boundless CF. Perhaps the most equivalent competition to this hefty device are the Crafty and the Mighty, made by German manufacturers Storz and Bickel. Is the CFX a big upgrade on its younger sibling, and how does it stack up to the other portable vaporizers in its class? Is it the vaporizer for you? Read on to find out more.
Battery on the Boundless CFX
The Boundless CFX comes with two interchangeable 2500 mAH lithium batteries that are some of the most powerful and longest lasting that you’ll find. The Boundless CFX takes about 2 to 3 hours to fully charge up, and a single charge lasts around 90 minutes of continuous vaping. Most users get at least 10 full sessions out of their CFX in a single charge, and some even report getting up to 15 full vape sessions. These numbers are pretty impressive, and the CFX performs just as well when put up against just about every other portable vaporizer on the market today.
When you compare it to the Crafty and the Mighty, the CFX has as stronger battery than the Crafty, and holds its own even against the Mighty. The Mighty from German manufacturers Storz and Bickel does charge up more quickly than the CFX, though. The digital display on the Boundless CFX is one of the brightest and biggest we’ve ever seen. This can either be a good or a bad thing, depending on how your vaping preferences. As previously stated, this unit is definitely not one that will be very discreet due to its size, and the display is so bright that it is very noticeable, especially at nighttime. If you really aren’t concerned about being discreet with your vape sessions, you’ll be fine and will probably love the display. In addition, users have reported difficulties with the battery indicator, saying that it changes too much to really get a good read on it and understand exactly what battery life you’re at.
Using the Boundless CFX
This unit is most definitely a hefty one, clocking it at about seven ounces, or 206 grams in weight. Its width is almost 3 inches and it is about an inch and a quarter deep. You can pack a full gram of dry herb into the CFX, which is pretty much unrivaled in the vape game today. Because it is so durable and fits a gram of dry herb, this device is a good choice in an outdoor party setting, or perhaps an outdoor group excursion where you want to pass it around so everyone can enjoy a nice vape toke. The CFX also comes with haptic feedback.
The CFX might be too large to fit comfortably in your pants pocket, and is therefore a better decision to put it in your purse or backpack. When it’s time to clean the device, we recommend that you do so while the CFX is still slightly warm, and be sure to use the cleaning brush that comes with the device. If you let the unit get too cool before you try to clean it, you might have a bit of a tough time scraping some of the excess residue off of it, especially if you are the type that might clean your unit too infrequently and let it get too caked up.
The Boundless CFX might be a lot bigger than most of the other portable vaporizers on the market today, but it will blow a lot of the competition out of the water when it comes to heating power. The CFX has a stellar temperature range from 38 to 221 degrees Celsius, and heats up in an unrivaled 20 seconds. You will be hard pressed to find a portable vaporizer that comes close to this kind of vaping power, and this power is basically what you’re trading for when you sacrifice discreetness and portability.
The Boundless CFX uses hybrid heating, which means it heats your dry herbs or concentrates with a combination of both convection and conduction heat. This hybrid heating gives you the best of both worlds, and delivers tasty, flavorful rips just about every time. The path that the vapor travels down is both ceramic and stainless steel, but the steel part of the device does not detract from the flavor quality. You’ll be sacrificing the discreetness and portability that you’ll get from a lot of other vaporizers on the market today, but the CFX makes up for it when it comes to vapor production, flavor and taste.
