Introduction
The Pax Mini 2 is the updated version of the original Mini, bringing a few interesting updates and is made to be the more affordable version of the Pax Flow.
I spent some time testing the device for this review, and I’ll cover its performance, temperature settings, build quality, and the key pros and cons.

Unboxing & First Impressions
When I opened the Pax Mini 2 box, everything was neatly packed. Inside, you’ll find the Pax Mini vaporizer, flat and raised mouthpieces, a full and half-pack oven lid, a cleaning brush, three oven screens, a wire brush, a multi-tool, and the charging cable.

The first thing I noticed was the solid aluminum body. It’s lightweight but sturdy, and the matte finish gives it a sleek, premium look. Right away, it’s clear that this device is built for portability and durability, making it easy to carry in your pocket or bag without worry.
Build, Design & Overall Feel
The Pax Mini 2 keeps the iconic Pax minimalistic design with smooth curves and a slim profile. It fits comfortably in the hand, and the aluminum frame feels dense and well-made.
The oven is at the bottom, keeping the top half cool and easy to grip during sessions. The two mouthpiece options let you choose between discreet portability with the flat piece or easier draws with the raised one. Overall, it balances comfort, looks, and practicality exceptionally well.

Conduction Heating & Vapor Quality
The Pax Mini heats herbs through direct contact with the oven walls. This gives smooth and consistent vapor throughout the session. It works best when the chamber is packed tight and even.

The airflow is slightly tight but smooth, like sipping through a straw. The Pax Mini includes flat and raised mouthpieces, and I prefer the raised one for easier draws.
The device can get warm after longer sessions, but it remains safe and comfortable to hold.
This vape is perfect for beginners or casual users who enjoy light, smooth vapor. Experienced vapers who prefer thick, heavy clouds may find it too mild.
Four Heat Modes & LED Feedback
One standout feature is the four heat modes, indicated by LED petals. You toggle between them by quickly pressing the power button, then wait a few seconds or shake the device to confirm your choice.
- Petal 1 – Purple: Minimal vapor, discreet sessions.
- Petal 2 – Green: Conserves herb, extends sessions.
- Petal 3 – Yellow: Enhances flavor while keeping vapor smooth.
- Petal 4 – Orange: Produces dense clouds and maximum vapor.
Lower heat settings keep the flavor clean and fresh, while higher heat produces thicker clouds. Vapor builds slowly but stays steady, making each draw satisfying.
Oven Capacity & Half-Pack Lid
The full oven holds about 0.5 grams, which is great for longer sessions, while the half-pack lid reduces it to 0.25 grams for solo sessions. The new 3D oven screen has bigger holes, improving airflow compared to older Pax models.
The magnetic lid is simple to take on and off, and the stainless steel oven is strong and easy to clean. This setup lets you easily switch between small and large sessions without wasting any herb.

Simple One-Button Operation
Operating the Pax Mini is extremely straightforward. Pressing the mouthpiece button turns it on and cycles through the four heat modes.
Haptic feedback and LED indicators let you know when the device is ready. The simplicity makes it perfect for beginners or anyone who wants a hassle-free session.

Battery Life & Charging
The New Pax Mini has decent battery life, making it good for on-the-go vaping. It can handle multiple sessions, giving roughly 60 minutes of runtime. This is enough for casual daily use or a few short sessions throughout the day.
The battery is smaller than before, dropping from 3000 mAh to 2000 mAh, which reduces the runtime to about 60 minutes (3–4 sessions) compared to 150 minutes (8–10 sessions) on the older model. However, it charges much faster now, reaching a full charge in about 1.5 hours instead of the 3 hours it used to take.
The device charges using the included magnetic USB charging dock, which takes about 1.5 hours from empty. The dock is compact and easy to use, but it relies on a proprietary cable rather than USB-C.
This is one of the biggest drawbacks. If you lose the charging dock, you won’t be able to use the device until you find a replacement. Most modern portable dry herb vaporizers offer USB-C charging, which makes them more convenient in comparison.
Portability & Travel-Friendly Design
The Pax Mini 2 is very easy to carry around because it is small and lightweight. Compared to other best portable dry herb vaporizer, it is one of the most pocket-friendly options. Its strong aluminum body can handle everyday bumps and drops.

There are no fragile glass components, so you don’t have to worry about breakage while traveling. Pairing it with a travel case allows you to carry accessories and herbs safely wherever you go.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning the New Pax Mini vape is simple and quick. The oven, screen, and mouthpiece are removable and can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol or warm soapy water.
The vapor path can be cleaned with a pipe cleaner. Regular maintenance keeps the vapor smooth and flavorful without complicated procedures.

How to Use the Pax Mini
- Fully Charge the Device
Make sure the Pax Mini is fully charged before your first session. - Grind Your Herb
Use a medium-fine grind for your dry herb. This helps the oven heat evenly. - Pack the Oven
Open the oven by pressing down on either side of the oven lid.
Firmly pack the ground herb into the oven. Tight packing works best for conduction vapes. - Install the Mouthpiece
Choose either the Flat or Raised Mouthpiece based on your preference. - Power On the Device
Press the mouthpiece button for 2 seconds, then release.
Pink LED petals mean the oven is heating. - Select Your Heat Mode
Cycle through heat modes if needed. The LED will indicate which mode is selected. - Wait for Ready Signal
The LED petals will turn green in about 22 seconds, signaling that the device is ready. - Inhale Vapor
Sip slowly and steadily from the mouthpiece. Avoid taking sharp, fast hits. - After Your Session
Wait 10 minutes for the device to cool before handling.
Use the multi-tool to remove used herb from the oven. - Clean Regularly
Clean your device and oven every 3–5 sessions to maintain performance.
Extra Tips
- Check Battery Level: Shake the device and the LED petals will show the current battery charge.
- Change Oven Lid: Use the Full-Pack or Half-Pack lid depending on how much herb you want to use. Press down on one side to remove it.
- Switch Mouthpiece: Use the multi-tool to lift the Flat Mouthpiece if you want to switch to the Raised one.
How to Clean the Pax Mini
- Empty the Oven
Wait at least 10 minutes after your last session for the oven to cool.
Remove the oven lid and use the multi-tool to clear out any used material.
Be careful, surfaces may still be hot. - Remove Oven Screen and Mouthpiece
Take off the mouthpiece and oven lid.
Use the multi-tool to gently remove the oven screen. - Clean the Vapor Path
Dip a wire brush or pipe cleaner in isopropyl alcohol.
Insert it through the vapor path and move back and forth to remove buildup. - Clean the Oven and Lid
Wipe the oven and oven lid with a ISO Cleaning Wipes. - Soak Small Parts
Soak the oven screen and mouthpiece in a small bowl of isopropyl alcohol for about 15 minutes. - Dry and Reassemble
Let all parts dry completely before putting the device back together.
Tips & Warnings
- Never submerge the entire device in water.
- High temperatures may cause the LED petals to alternate red and orange before shutting down.
- If needed, perform a factory reset: with the device on, press and hold the power button for 7 seconds. LED petals will blink white 5 times when reset is confirmed.
