Is the DaVinci IQC worth it?
In this DaVinci IQC review, we’ll be going over the fourth model that DaVinci Vaporizers has released in its IQ lineup to see what they’ve done differently.
While it might look the same as the previous model, the IQC aims to be a more modern upgrade despite sacrificing some manufacturing quality to bring down the price of the kit. If you’re interested in better build quality at a slightly higher price, you can check out the DaVinci IQ3 Vaporizer.
For its new price point, the IQC has a lot of cool key features that we’ll be sharing. Keep reading as we go over all of the changes and upgrades to the classic DaVinci design, as well as who we think the IQC is best suited for – Let’s get into it.

IQC Vape Key Features
One of the first things that come to mind that makes the IQC unique is the lowered price point compared to the IQ2.
- The IQC comes in significantly cheaper than the IQ2 model but still keeps most of the design features
- Compared to the plastic body on units like the Mighty+, the metal exterior is a nice touch on DaVinci vapes that makes them feel premium in the hand.
- The heat-up time has been significantly reduced to thirty seconds compared to the IQ2’s one minute
- The lid has been changed to an anti-microbial polymer compared to ceramic
LED User Interface
The IQC uses a bright LED screen that will display your set temperature. You’ll have precise control over the temperature, which you can use the up and down arrows to adjust.
- There are also four pre-set options, which are aimed at users who want a simpler idea of what kind of temperature they’re on
The bright screen is also quite nice to look at while at home, but it might be an issue out in public for discreetness especially at night since it will get some attention.
Ceramic Conduction Oven
- The DaVinci IQC vaporizer relies on a 0.5g ceramic conduction oven underneath the bottom side’s chamber lid.
This means the as ceramic glazed oven heats up, it will gradually cook your weed and produce vapor for you to inhale through the mouthpiece.
It’s not the most powerful oven, and because of the large capacity, each session took us about twelve minutes to clear a fully packed bowl during testing.
Conduction ovens often work best with a finely ground and tightly packed bowl, so that the oven’s heat can transfer better to your herb.
DaVinci IQC Extraction Rating
At the end of a session, your ABV will have a nice dark brown color which indicates a very good THC extraction.
As we said before though, a full clear will take around 10 minutes which won’t be the best for people in a rush or for heavy users. Those people might be better suited with an Arizer Air MAX which has come to be known as a ‘Ripper’ in the vaping community.
The boost function can be activated by holding down the power button during an active session. This will slowly raise the temperature to the maximum for as long as it’s held down & it’s a great way to get all the maximum extraction possible if your herb is starting to produce less vapor.
Can the DaVinci IQC do concentrates?
- The IQC can reach a max temperature of 430F / 221C, which will be more than enough to hit any of your favorite concentrates.
However, one of the downsides of the cost-cutting efforts on the IQC is that they didn’t include a DaVinci dosing capsule or DaVinci extract cup, so you’ll have to buy these accessories separately.
I wouldn’t recommend using the sandwich method of placing two clumps of herb over a dab, as cleaning it up can be a real hassle cleaning burnt resin out of the IQC oven.
How’s the battery life?
- You’ll be able to get just over an hour of battery life, which is similar to the IQ2’s performance – This equates to about six to eight sessions on average before needing a recharge.
However, the 18650 battery is both easily accessible and swappable if you run out of juice on the go and want to keep the party going.
When your IQC is charging, you can see the remaining battery to be charged as indicated by what is flashing. When the light has turned fully solid, you’ll know that it is fully charged.
As far as charging goes, the IQ2’s micro-USB port has been upgraded to USB-C charging the IQC, taking the charging time from six down to two hours.
Is the DaVinci IQC easy to use?
Beginners will have no problem learning how to get consistently solid vapor quality.
It’s very easy to figure out how things work on the IQC, especially with the help of the smartphone app.
Between the new soft polymer mouthpieces, ceramic oven, and adjustable chamber compressor, every part is straightforward to use.
Here are some simple commands to help you get started with the IQC vaporizer:
- Five clicks of the power button will turn the unit on or off
- The up and down arrows will allow you to adjust the temperature
- Cycle between Fahrenheit and Celsius can be achieved by pressing down on all three buttons
- The current temperature can be displayed by simply clicking the power once during a session.
- On the lid, there is an extendable zirconia pearl which you can use to compress smaller packs of weed for when you want to microdose
Is the DaVinci IQC portable?
- The IQC comes in with some portable specs at just 1.75 inches wide, 3.6 inches tall, 1 inch tall, and only weighing 0.3 pounds.
Because of this, the IQC is one of the smallest portable vaporizers on the market.
You’ll be able to slip it into any pants pocket and bring it out whenever you want for a discreet session. Since the 0.5g chamber is also large, you’ll be able to get a ton of puffs in if you prefer just having a few tokes at a time.
For even more portability, we recommend picking up a Vape Case to help them keep all of your 420 vape accessories in one convenient place.
DaVinci IQC vapor quality
Just like the IQ2, the IQC will produce consistent vapor quality from every puff that you take through the session.
The only real downside in terms of vapor quality would be that the flat mouthpiece will get very hot, which is why we suggest using the raised mouthpiece which is also more comfortable to inhale from. Whether you are taking short puffs or longer inhales, the IQC will work well. For overall better vapor quality, we recommend checking out the AirVape Legacy Pro these days.
DaVinci IQC Tips and Tricks
- As well, we can also recommend the purchase of DaVinci Dosing Capsules to make chamber reloading and maintenance easier
- A spare 18650 battery purchase will help you to keep your device going on the go if you’re a heavy user
- As a bonus, you will now also be able to charge your phone with the IQC vaporizer with the reverse charging feature!
- After loading the bowl, you can tap down with your finger to make sure that it’s tightly packed
How to use a bubbler with the IQC
Since the raised mouthpiece is a 10mm bong adapter, you can easily pair it with either a 10mm Vape Bubbler or the 10mm Curved Cooler for smoother vapor quality.
- To swap the flat mouthpiece to the raised mouthpiece, all you’ll need to do is open the top lid, and then push the mouthpiece down before putting the raised mouthpiece in place of it.
By using a bubbler, you’ll be getting an extra layer of water filtration which can help to cool down the vapor that you inhale.
DaVinci IQC Vaporizer App
With the DaVinci Vaporizer App, you’ll be able to pair up with your IQC to play around with some extra customization.
Some of these extra settings and control include:
- Temperature control + Customizing the pre-sets
- THC usage graphs
- Stealth mode
- Vibration settings
DaVinci IQ2 vs IQC
When it comes to the upgrades, there are many for possible buyers to consider! The design has been overhauled to an aluminum shell that is durable and stylish as ever.
- The oven has been equipped with a ceramic top coat to allow for no possible metallic aftertaste.
- The battery has been significantly upgraded in this model compared to the IQ or the DaVinci IQ2 – USB-C charging port to reduce charging time.
- The IQ2 has a much more inclusive kit but also costs more
- The IQC does not have an adjustable airflow dial while the IQ2 does
You can read more about this comparison in our Davinci IQC vs IQ2 Review.
How to clean the DaVinci IQC?
Even with its durable ceramic bowl, we recommend that you clean the bowl immediately after every use to prevent any sort of resin buildup from forming that would eventually decrease your vapor quality or airflow.
- From time to time, the rest of the IQC including the airpath and mouthpiece should be cleaned with cleaning sticks and cleaning wipes.
Make sure you do this process with the vape upside down so that no debris is pushed further into the device by accident. For any annoying debris like burnt resin that won’t come off with the brush, the kit’s included metal pick will help you out.
DaVinci IQC mouthpiece criticism
- The included silicone mouthpieces were a slight downgrade from the ceramic ones included on the IQ2.
While both parts are cross-compatible, we feel that the IQC should have come with ceramic.
The silicon is more prone to resin buildups in the air holes and can’t be soaked in an alcohol solution to help with cleaning. It does have its benefits though, as the antimicrobial material helps for sharing and gets slightly less hot than the scorching IQ2 ceramic mouthpiece. Overall though, the rubber mouthpieces just feel cheap compared to most other Cannabis Vaporizers.
Pros
- Sleek and portable design
- Easy to use
- Improved heat-up time
- USB-C charging port
- Swappable 18650 battery
- Integrated pick tool
Cons
- Mouthpieces still get hot
- No pass-through charging
- Restricted airflow
- Reduced kit accessories compared to IQ2
Final Thoughts
The DaVinci IQC is a great purchase for anyone looking for a reliable and portable dual-use vaporizer with consistent vapor quality.
The battery life and charging time are both very competitive for the price range and the app is very immersive & it’s definitely earned a spot on our list of the Best Portable Vaporizers for Flower.
These features plus the efficiency and reliability of the vape are great attributes of the IQC. If you are looking for a vaping experience that gives the user full control of their session, then this vaporizer is perfect for you if you don’t mind paying the premium price tag.

Is there a budget vape similar to the IQC?
You can read about a similar budget vape in our XMAX V3 Pro vs DaVinci IQC Comparison.
You’re right about the rubber pipe adaptor, it feels natural and no weird taste has ever been present in my sessions. I bought the glass pipe adaptor but the airflow is terrible compared to the rubber one so don’t waste your money on the glass adaptor.
Cleaning:
I use qtips soaked in alcohol to clean the oven and then I flip it over, take the flavor chamber out and stick the inside of the chamber tunnel with a Qtip soaked in alcohol. It’s called the devil anus because after a few sessions it collects resin as a mf. If the qtip get stuck, don’t panic. I use a regular pair of tweezers.
Now, there are some alcohol wet pads that diabetic people use to clean the skin before injecting insulin. They are very small squared pads soaked in Isopropyl alcohol so I would wrap a qtip with it and clean the devil’s anus and so no cotton qtip will ever get stuck. (to make sure is clean, open up both ends of the vape, take out the flavor chamber and look though it pointing at the light or use your phone lantern to make sure the devil’s anus is not cloaked at all. If you can see from one end to the other, you’re good.
The actual glass flavor chamber is easy to clean, just use your thumb to block the bottom of the glass tube, fill it up with alcohol half way and use your index to block the upper side too. Then start shaking it. Lose the dirty alcohol and repeat. Once you’re done use a qtip soaked in alcohol to make sure it’s clean and you’re done. I prefer the one with the rubber cap that comes by default.
As far as filling it out, fill it to the top without pushing so that the airflow is good. Try to draw before starting and if you packed it to tight, take it all out and kinda eyeball how much herb are you going to take out. Although, as long as you fill it to the top without pushing, you should be fine. (I would stick the filled up oven with the pointy end of my davinci picking tool to improve the airflow even further)
I recommend the steel pods but again, don’t fill it too tight. Just right to the top without pushing. You can stick the filled up pod too.
Long story short, if you keep it clean and don’t pack it too tight, if you use the rubber pipe adaptor as a default mouth piece, you will always have a perfect session full of flavor.
Popcorn taste indicates lack of cleaning and so does poor airflow.
