Should you buy the XMAX V3 Pro or the Tinymight?

As two of the top trending dry herb vaporizers of 2022, the Tinymight and XMAX V3 Pro have grown in popularity as more people begin to spread the word about their very powerful session and on-demand convection heating modes. As they are similar by nature, this comparison more so comes down to whether you want more powerful heating and better manufacturing quality, or an easy-to-use device in the V3 Pro thanks to its OLED screen and lower price tag. In this vaporizer comparison review, we’ll be going over each vaporizer’s key features to help you decide which to pick up.

XMAX V3 Pro vs. Tinymight – Heating System

As you probably know, a vaporizer convection oven entails hot air passing through the chamber to extract your device’s THC before the vapor runs up the mouthpiece and you inhale.

On the XMAX V3 Pro, you’ll have a temperature range of 212°F – 428°F (100°C – 220°C) which you’ll be able to precisely control through an OLED screen and up and down arrows.

On the other hand, the Tinymight uses more of an old-school design with single button operation and a heat dial with 10 notches that equates to a heat range of between 250° – 460°F (120°-240°C).

One of the good things about the XMAX V3 Pro has going for it, is that the V3 Pro has amazing airflow that will help to cool the vapor and also allow you to crank out massive clouds that won’t be too harsh on the throat. Since the stainless steel oven is just above the convection heater, you’ll also get some conduction in the oven which will help contribute super fast THC extraction you’ll be having as I’ll get to a little later in the review.

With the Tinymight, we found that the heat dial setting 6 (370°F / 188°C) was the perfect setting that allowed for a good AVB after a session that wasn’t too harsh on the throat. Any setting above that is going to be somewhat overkill unless you’re running it through a vaporizer bubbler/bong with the sold-separately bong adapter accessory.

XMAX V3 Pro vs. Tinymight – Portability

Coming in a six inches tall, and one inch around, the XMAX V3 Pro takes more of a pen-style approach to its portability. My only real complaint is that the magnets aren’t the strongest, and so if you’re not careful the mouthpiece can become dislodged.

With the Tinymight, it comes in at just above 3 inches by 2 inches, about the same size as an Arizer ArGo. The only thing that holds it back in terms of discreetness in public is the glass stem mouthpiece which juts out with a stainless steel cooling unit.

One of the pros about the XMAX V3 Pro is that you’ll be able to use sold-separately dosing capsules along with a 420 Storage Keychain to easily swap out your bowl, or for normal usage, you can also just use the pick tool on the mouthpiece to knock out the chamber before you reload it. It’s a great system that boosts its usability while you’re out on the go.

On the Tinymight, it makes use of the same glass stem design as an Arizer vaporizer which will work by filling the bottom part of the chamber. While you can knock out the chamber with a spare dab tool you have, it still won’t be efficient as the V3 Pro, as the glass can still be very hot right after a session.

Which is better for dabs?

Both of these vaporizers are going to be compatible with the shatter that you have lying around as they can get quite hot and provide excellent airflow for a good extraction out of your dab. Included in your XMAX V3 Pro is going to be one XMAX Wax Cup which features a funneled mesh design that will help to keep your bowl clean. If you’re going to be using your vape 50/50 between loose flower and dabs, I’d suggest picking multiple up so that you won’t have to worry about cleaning them as much.

For concentrate use with the Tinymight, your best bet is going to be picking up a vape healthstone from a third-party vendor. These are just porous stones that you can put oil into, or a dab on top of, that will that vaporize evenly as it absorbs it. It’s most likely not going to be a perfect fit though, so you might have to do a little sanding to get them to fit into the bottom of the chamber. The next best option you’ll have is going to be using a Storz and Bickel Dosing Capsule with some dry herb on the bottom for your concentrate to melt into. The good thing is that the Tinymight is going to get hot enough to vaporize and melt normal hash, and the mess is going to be contained to the mouthpiece and won’t gum up any internal parts as it does on the DynaVap M Plus.

Still though, you’re going to want to make sure that you hit your glass with a Tools420 vape cleaning stick right after your concentrate session otherwise it will become heavily discolored over time. Most heavy dab users will end up picking up an extra mouthpiece at checkout through the Tinymight website so they don’t worry about ruining it as much. There are also several options in North America for artisan mouthpieces like Ed’s TnT or Simrell that you can pick up for less money than shipping all the way from Finland again.

XMAX V3 Pro vs. Tinymight Vapor Quality

For the vapor quality comparison, They are somewhat similar thanks to their powerful heating systems as portable vaporizers.

Beginning with the XMAX V3 Pro, you’re going to have two session timers of four minutes and six minutes. Rarely will you ever get to that full six-minute mark before the 0.25g chamber is already spent, though. You’re going to start out the session with almost pure convection heating which will turn into hybrid heating as the stainless steel oven heats up. Because of that, you’re going to lose some of the flavors as the session goes along. Because of that as well, you’re going to get a little bit of uneven heating around the chamber which is why they included a stir tool on the mouthpiece. About halfway through your session two to three minutes in, you’re going to want to give the bowl a stir so that you can get the best vapor quality from your dry herb. Overall though, you’re going to get huge clouds almost immediately right off the bat as it will reach its max temperature in about 15 seconds. On the two sides of the vaporizer, you can see the two air intake ports that will bring your air to be heated. The only real downside is that they produce an annoying whistle noise as air rushes in, but on the plus side, the great airflow makes this one of the best vaporizers to use with a bong by picking up a Universal Silicone XMAX V3 Pro WPA.

On the TinyMight, this thing is an absolute demolisher of dry herb. You’ll want to run its temperature about 20 Fahrenheit lower than what you’ll be used to on other devices because of how efficient it is. The airpath is taken in through the holes around the mouthpiece stem which is then brought down through an aluminum and glass vapor pathway through a stainless steel coil and then is brought up through to the glass stem mouthpiece. There are some debates about whether its air path is truly isolated, as well as some concerns about the aluminum, but I wouldn’t think too much about it since most dosing capsules are made out of aluminum anyways. For its vapor quality, it can run a bit harsh but you’re going to get that nice roasted flavor similar to what the Arizer devices provide. Your bud is going to be very well used in about the same amount of time as the XMAX but will be more so convection-based throughout the whole session for longer-lasting flavor during session modes.

The Tinymight does offer slightly faster on-demand heating at 5 seconds with slightly bigger clouds, but for microdosing, the difference between 5 and 10 seconds isn’t that big of a deal to most people.

Which has the better Battery Life?

For battery life, each vape is going to last you about 45 minutes of use, as they both use the same spec 2600mAh 18650 battery. In terms of sessions, you’ll get about 6 from the XMAX or about 6-8 on the Tinymight. The good thing is that they are both swappable, so you can simply unscrew the top lid on the Tinymight, or pull on the lid of the XMAX to just pop in a new battery on the go. This is where something like a Stashlogix Vape Case comes in handy so that you can keep spare batteries and accessories in one convenient spot while you’re on the go. Each will charge back to full in about an hour and a half, but the XMAX USB-C port is slightly more viable as it will be compatible with a battery bank and more available chargers these days.

Ease of Use Comparison

On the XMAX V3 Pro, you’ll press the power button three times to turn the vape on, and it will automatically boot to session mode and begin heating. To swap to on-demand mode, you can press the up and down arrows, and then press and hold the power button to activate the heater to your set temperature – Very easy to use in either mode.

For the Tinymight, you’ll boot the vape into either session or on-demand mode by holding the power button longer after three clicks to turn the device on. You’ll also be able to calibrate different heat settings which they have a guide for on their website. Session mode is a bit easier to use, and people have posted charts as to what each dial number stands for.

Overall, the XMAX is a bit easier to use given its OLED screen and better accessibility to dosing capsules or chamber clearing with the mouthpiece.

Warranty

On the XMAX V3 Pro, you’ll have a one-year warranty from TopGreen Tech, and on the Tinymight you’ll have up to 10 years of coverage. As the XMAX V3 Pro is relatively new, we still don’t know how they will hold up with time, and with the Tinymight, there are countless stories of the infamously bad customer service from the small manufacturer.

XMAX V3 Pro vs. Tinymight Review Conclusion

In conclusion, this comparison comes down to whether you want more of an artisan-style dry herb vape in the form of a Tinymight made from oak body and glass, or for much more affordability with similar function on a more mass-produced scale in an XMAX V3 Pro. For price tags, the Tinymight, the landing cost after DHL shipping and customs clearing is going to be over $350+, but the XMAX will only run you about $150. So – Take your pick!

I hope this comparison review has helped give you some more information! Is there anything you would add? What do you think the Best Dry Herb Vaporizer is? Let me know if I missed something to compare and I’ll be in contact. Until next time, to health and high times!
