DaVinci IQ3 Review – Expert Hands-On Experience
Build Quality & Portability
The DaVinci IQ3 is better built than the older models. It is a bit bigger than the IQC but still small enough to carry in your pocket or bag. It feels solid in your hand because of the brushed aluminum body.
It is a little heavier but feels strong and balanced. The buttons work well, the screen is bright, and the magnetic lid stays in place during use.
Chamber Size & Packing Tips
One of the best things about the IQ3 by Davinci is its large bowl. It holds up to 0.7 grams of dry herb, which is one of the biggest for portable vaporizers. This is great for people who vape often or want longer sessions without refilling.
I got the best results using a medium grind and packing the herb lightly, just below the rim. I also tried the dosing capsule, which made switching sessions faster and kept the oven cleaner.
Vapor Quality & Temperature Control
The vapor from the IQ3 was smooth, cool, and full of flavor, especially at lower temperatures. The zirconia mouthpiece felt clean and comfortable. The spiral-shaped Cool Core inside the chamber helped cool the vapor before it reached my throat, making it smoother.
The airflow dial let me control how hard I pulled. Removing the spiral gave me bigger and thicker clouds when I wanted more vapor.
I mostly used Smart Path 3 or 4. These settings gave a good mix of flavor and vapor. Below 400°F (204°C), the flavor was fresh and clean. Above that, the vapor got stronger and more relaxing.
Boost mode was good for finishing a bowl, and standby mode saved battery and herb when I took breaks.
Water Pipe Use
Since I have a sensitive throat, I tried the IQ3 with a water pipe adapter. Adding a bubbler made the vapor cooler and easier to breathe.
The Universal 10mm Bubbler worked well for smaller setups. The 14mm MEGA Globe Whip Bubbler with an adapter gave an even cooler, smoother hit. Both worked great with the IQ3 and made vaping more enjoyable.
Battery Life and Charging
The battery lasted for about 12 to 15 full sessions on one charge. It took about 3 hours to fully charge.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Cleaning the IQ3 was easy and took about 10 to 15 minutes. I used the brush that comes with it to empty the oven while it was still warm and wiped it with ISO cleaning sticks.
The flat mouthpiece, extended mouthpiece, and Cool Core with the spiral popped out easily. I soaked them in isopropyl alcohol, rinsed with hot water, and let them dry before putting everything back.
I cleaned it quickly after each session and did a deeper clean every few sessions to keep it working well and tasting fresh.

I have a lot of vaporizers. The larger bowl on the IQ3 will likely make this my every day vaporizer. If it were 1g it would be even better. Heats up quickly, removable battery is convenient. The built in stir stick tool is a smart idea, this vaporizer should be stirred and not having the tool right there would have made it pain.
My cons:
Battery latch sucks. They need to redesign that. It never locks on your first try and I feel it may break whenever I open the latch. If you think you’re going to be replacing the battery with a fresh one a lot you should think about that.
The lights are annoying at best, I’m glad there’s something but I would have preferred a traditional digital screen.
Getting accessories for this thing is hard. Always sold out everywhere including Davinci’s site. They have dosage capsules option but they only give you 1 and you can’t find more of them to buy more.
I wasn’t able to connect it to bluetooth which is disappointing but not a deal breaker for me.
Overall, if you’re ok with the price, I recommend it. I took a star off for the lights/battery latch and not including more than 1 pod in the case.
I have no issue with Tools420, they had a good deal, good service, I saved some money I just bought the wrong vape! Personally, I don’t care about “flavor” only effects, the IQ3 has absolutely nothing for me! They say it’s well made, maybe so but way too busy, everything has to be just right or nothing happens. Seems to me and for me Conduction is not as good as convection. I have 2 other way cheaper vapes that do a much better job! I just had to have the “best”! but sometimes the best is sometimes over rated!
I got the IQ3 because I wanted a vaporizer with both dry herb and concentrate compatibility, and this one didn’t disappoint. The vapor is smooth and the battery life lasts all day!
The precision air dial lets me really fine-tune my hits. I was a bit skeptical about the larger size, but it’s very portable and easy to use. Definitely a solid vape.
