Unboxing and First Impressions

When I opened the box, everything was neatly arranged. Inside, I found the vaporizer, a USB‑C charging cable, a multi-tool, flat & raised mouthpieces, a cleaning tool, and a quick‑start guide. The packaging feels simple, but premium, and the device itself made a strong first impression. The aluminum body feels smooth and solid, the curves are comfortable in the hand, and the overall design looks modern and refined. It immediately felt like a vaporizer made for everyday use without any hassle.

Compared to previous PAX models, the PAX Flow vape is slightly larger. However, it remains very portable when compared to other dry herb vaporizers in the same performance and price range. It feels compact, clean, and easy to carry. It comes in two colors: Onyx Black and Greenstone Green. I got the Greenstone Green version, and I really like the color. Design and Build Quality

The oven is side loading, which is a bit different from most vaporizers that load from the top. At first it feels slightly unusual, but after a few uses, I actually found it very easy to get used to. It is simple to open, easy to access, and loading the chamber becomes quick once you do it a couple of times. If you don’t like the side oven design and prefer the chamber or oven at the bottom, like the standard PAX design, you can go for the newest PAX 4. It has a similar size and form factor.

The chamber and vapor path are made from stainless steel, which gives a clean and solid feel during use. On top, the silicone mouthpiece sits comfortably and feels soft when inhaling.

Flavor, Vapor Quality, Heat-Up Time, and Airflow

The PAX Flow vape uses a hybrid heating system. This means it combines conduction and convection to heat the herb more evenly. The difference is noticeable right away. The extraction is better, the herbs cook more evenly, and the overall efficiency is noticeably improved compared to the older conduction‑only PAX models. Even at higher heat levels, the vapor stays comfortable and does not irritate my throat.

The airflow is one of the biggest upgrades. It pulls around 10 liters per minute, and this puts it into the same range as the Veazy Vaporizer. In fact, it is a huge jump from older PAX devices. The draw feels effortless. I could take long pulls without feeling restricted. The heat-up time is around 35 to 40 seconds. It’s not instant, but it’s quick enough for everyday use. Once it reaches the temperature, it stays consistent. I liked that I could switch modes quickly, and the device responded right away. That said, the heat-up time could be improved, especially when compared to newer vaporizers like the Utillian 850, which heats up in around 10 to 15 seconds.

The chamber holds about 0.25 to 0.35 grams. I found that a medium grind works best. If I packed it too tightly, the airflow felt restricted. When I packed it lightly, the flavor and vapor were much better. For heavier sessions, I tamped it slightly, but not too much. For lighter sessions, I used a looser pack and lower heat mode.

The Flow by PAX is very easy to use and carry. The main button is built into the center of the mouthpiece. Press and hold it for about 2 seconds to turn it on. Then wait until the LED turns green, and it is ready to use. You can click to switch between heat modes easily, and the different petal colors show which temperature you are using. I also liked the vibration feedback because it tells me what is happening without having to guess.

Cleaning is also simple and quick. You can open the chamber from the side and use a cleaning brush to remove the used material.
