Auxo Calent Vaporizer Review

If you are a fan of Auxo’s Dab Rig, the Cira Vaporizer,  then you might be interested in learning about their newest vaporizer. The Auxo Calent is a portable dry herb vaporizer that was made to directly compete with the PAX Plus in the market.

While it has a super sleek and clever design with a similar four pre-set temperature design in a hybrid heat system, is it enough to make it one of the best budget vaporizers? In this review, we’ll be going over the manufacturing quality, key features, and vapor quality to give you a better idea about where it fits into the market, as well as see if it’s worth picking up.

Auxo Calent Unique Hybrid Heating System

The Auxo Calent uses a 0.35g stainless steel conduction chamber that is heated by a combination of conduction and an integrated infrared laser. As manufacturers look for unique ways to heat dry herbs in a new way, infrared lasers are beginning to grow in popularity as we’ll soon be reviewing a light bulb vaporizer!

With the combination of conduction and infrared, the Calent does have one thing going for it, and that is extremely even THC extraction in the chamber. As long as you’re using a medium grind where you’re restricting the airflow, your chamber won’t have any hot or cold spots that some vaporizers struggle with. This means that you’ll never have to stir your bowl, which is a huge plus for the vaporizer‘s portability. As there is a little less conduction happening, you’ll also notice that the smell is greatly reduced during inhales, which is another plus for discreet hits in public!

Auxo Calent Pre-set Temperatures

Once you have the vaporizer turned on, the four pre-set temperatures are as follows:

  1. 356° Fahrenheit
  2. 383° Fahrenheit
  3. 410° Fahrenheit
  4. 437° Fahrenheit

Depending on the pre-set that you have, the heat-up time will take about 20 to 30 seconds before your 3-minute session timer will kick in. If you’re inhaling at a normal rate at the highest temperature, this will give you enough time to fully clear the bowl. On pre-sets one and two, you might need to run a whole other session, though. As with almost every other vape on the market, the lower temperatures will give your more terpene flavor, and hotter temperatures

Is the Auxo Calent portable?

Coming in at 4in x 1.7in x 1in, this is a very portable vaporizer, as it has almost the same specs as the very popular Utillian 722. This is helped even more by the full-swivel mouthpiece which is attached via a strong magnet to the body of the vape. This makes it feel great carrying it in pockets thanks to its smooth aluminum and zirconia materials.

If you’re a heavy user, you might want to consider having something like a 420 storage keychain which will help you keep up to four compartments full of ground cannabis so that you can always have multiple sessions with yourself on the go. For the hardcore vape fans out there, you might also consider picking up a Vape Case where you’ll be able to store extra goodies like your favorite vaporizer bubblers and bong adapters.

Auxo Calent Vapor Quality

In terms of vapor quality, you should first know that the Auxo Calent works best with long and slow inhales.

The only problem is that the airflow isn’t very good compared to the Best Dry Herb Vaporizers which is why you’ll want to keep the chamber not filled to capacity with either a medium or coarse grind. If you use a fine grind, you’re going to quickly clog the mouthpiece chamber as well as reduce the amount of air that can flow through the chamber. As we mentioned before, the Calent will work best with long and slow inhales at the max temperature. The only downside is that the vapor can get pretty hot. We’ve found a quick and easy solution to this problem by placing the DynaVap Fat Mouthpiece on the swivel straw, which will adapt it to a 14mm bong port.

From there, we attached a 14mm curved tip bubbler so that we could take longer hits without any of the coughing. As an alternative, I would suggest using heat setting 2 or 3 with a very coarse grind from just ripping it up with your fingers. This will ensure good airflow, and the lower temperatures means you can take longer hits without the heat irritating your throat.

Auxo Calent Battery Life

In terms of battery, the Calent has a very strong battery given its fast heat-up times. By this, I mean that the 2900mAh proprietary battery will last you 20 sessions lasting 3 minutes each. While this stat is not the best, it just means that it has focused some of its energy onto heating as opposed to just pure battery life. This is fine, but some users will prefer a combination of fast-heating, as well as good battery options. This is one of the reasons why the XMAX V3 Pro Vaporizer has done so well – It reaches temperature in under 15 seconds, but comes equipped with an easily swappable 2600mAh battery. Plus, it costs much less than the Calent.

How to use the Auxo Calent?

The Auxo Calent is a very straightforward vaporizer with not much room to customize your sessions, or screw them up for that matter. Let’s take a look at how it operates:

  1. To get your Auxo Calent up and running, you’ll first start by removing the Magnetic chamber that is held airtight by an O-Ring.
  2. After that, load in about 0.3g of your favorite strain using a medium grind.
  3. From there, hold the power button for a few seconds to turn the vape on, set your temperature as indicated by the blue lights.
  4. The four heat settings as indicated by the four blue lights on the power button.
  5. Once you have your heat selected, press the up button for a few seconds to begin the heating process as the blue lights begin rotating to let you know that the chamber is heating up.
  6. After 20 to 30 seconds, the Calent will vibrate and the blue lights will turn to solid green to let you know that it has reached temperature.

How to clean the Auxo Calent?

With the removable mouthpiece, you can clean out the chamber with a dab tool after every use, and then wipe down the metal filter screen with a vape cleaning stick. While you can also remove bottom part of the mouthpiece after removing the blue O-Ring, most people won’t find it necessary since you can just use Q-Tips to clean the inside of the mouthpiece straw.

Auxo Calent Review Conclusion

In conclusion, for 160$ Canadian, the Auxo Calent is a decent vaporizer that aims to compete with the likes of the PAX Plus and Arizer lineup, but it falls a little short because it doesn’t really offer anything new to the market other than a super easy to use and clean design.

For the price, most people are going to prefer the XMAX V3 Pro which is superior to it in almost every category. While the Calent did capture some of the features of the PAX Plus, it just simply didn’t out-do it, which leaves it a bit stuck in the mud.
