Is the CCell Sandwave Worth it?
In this CCell Sandwave 510 Battery review, we’ll be going over its key features as well as who we think it’s best for.
The Sandwave is CCell Vape‘s newest 510 Thread Battery and is ridiculously fun thanks to its simple design that kicks ass when it comes to performance.
For $20, you’ll have access to some awesome features like variable voltage, USB-C charging, and a unique design, but is it worth it?

CCell Sandwave Key Features
The standout feature of the Sandwave is its rippled and rubberized design that adds a lot of protection to the body of the vape, unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.
As a draw-activated vape, it will use a magnetic adapter.
Unlike other draw-activated vapes though, it uses a voltage dial on the top of its design which will let you change how hard you want your vapor to be without the use of a button, which is a huge bonus for the Sandwave because of its low cost.
Build Quality
Inside the kit, you’ll have access to the CCell Sandwave, an Owner’s Manual and Warranty Card, Two Magnetic Adapters, and a small USB-C charging cable.
The kit is also very compact which is a great thing to see, as it takes up minimal space during transportation. If you are someone that likes to travel with multiple cartridges though, you might want to upgrade to a proper Vape Case which will let you bring it anywhere.
CCell Sandwave Battery Life
At only $20, it was awesome to see that CCell loaded up on the battery life, as well as bumping it up to 400mAh. That’s just a little below their staple model, the CCell Palm, which comes in at 500mAh but still uses Micro-USB charging, but the Palm sells for over $30.
A full charge from dead will take about 90 minutes, and the light will turn off to let you know that it’s done charging as well.
CCell Sandwave Compatibility
With a drop-in cartridge design with the magnetic adapter it uses and a viewing window, operating the CCell Sandwave is easy.
Simply drop in your favorite vape cartridge with the installed magnetic adapter, and then start inhaling to begin automatic heating. With 0.5mL cartridges, the ceramic mouthpiece will stick just above the hole for more of a discreet look, but it will still be functional.
For cartridges bigger than 1mL, they’ll be too big for the chamber, so we recommend looking for top-loaded vape pens like the Dr. Dabber Universal Battery if you use only 1.5mL or 2mL sized cartridges.
Portability
Overall, I’d say that the Sandwave is one of the most portable 510-thread batteries on the market. The rubber exterior is very smooth, and the concealed chamber hides most of your cartridge meaning you’ll be able to slide it in and out of your pocket without a second thought – You might even forget that it’s there.
If that is the case, you might be interested in checking out the keychain 510 vape, the AirVape OM.
Vapor Quality Review
By not relying on a button to supply power to the atomizer, the Sandwave is as easy as gripping it and ripping it – Sort of like me in the disabled bathroom at Taco Bell!
Unlike the oil from Taco Bell though, the Sandwave transforms your cartridge’s oil into super smooth vapor with excellent airflow with a choice on how you want it to perform thanks to the dial on the top of the vape as indicated by Low, Medium, and High:
• 2.8V – Low – No Visible Vapor, Excellent Flavor
• 3.2V – Medium – Small Clouds with Good Flavor
• 3.6V – High – Bigger Clouds
As a safety precaution, your hits will be maxed out around 10 seconds, but most people don’t take inhales that big anyways.
CCell Sandwave Review Conclusion
In conclusion, the CCell Sandwave has really impressed me with its awesome features and low price tag.
For $27, there’s not much better than you can buy other than maybe the Dr. Dabber model if you need a top-loaded battery – You can read more about that model in our Dr. Dabber Universal Battery Review.
In other words, it’s earned a spot on our list of the Best Vape Pens.
