How to Use the Dr. Dabber Switch 2?

1. Charge Your Device: Start by fully charging your Switch 2 using the included charger.
2. Remove the Glass Bubbler: To detach the glass bubbler, gently push it from the bottom. Avoid pulling it from the mouthpiece to prevent breaking the glass.
3. Fill the Bubbler: Fill the bubbler with water until it’s about a quarter full. This amount works best for smooth hits.
4. Reattach the Bubbler: Carefully put the bubbler back on, making sure to align the markings for proper airflow. Avoid blowing into the bubbler, as this can push water into the induction cup and may crack it
5. Add Your Concentrate: Remove the magnetic carb cap. Use the Dr. Dabber Drop hot knife to add your wax to the induction cup. To turn it on or off, click the button five times. Press it once to heat up. (Make sure to prevent the hot knife from coming in contact with the induction field, it can damage it)
6. Turn on the Switch 2: Slide the switch to the right to turn it on. Press the “d” button to activate it. The LEDs will pulse red while heating and turn green once it reaches the desired temperature. When the heating cycle ends, the light will turn blue.
7. Adjust the Temperature: You can change the temperature using the +/- buttons or through the app. Remember, the Switch 2 has a 15-minute auto shut-off feature. If you need to pause, just press any button to wake it from sleep mode.
8. Enjoy Your Puffs: Once it’s heated, take a puff and enjoy your experience!

Aesthetic and Ease of Use

The LED lights look great in the dark, and the device is user-friendly, whether you’re using the app or not. I found the Switch 2 much simpler to operate than the older model, which had a lot of complicated features.

5 Preset Temperatures

You can customize the preset temperature for each color using the app. The default temperature settings are::

• Purple – 400°F / 204°C

• Blue – 440°F / 227°C

• Cyan – 480°F / 249°C 

• Orange – 500°F / 260°C

• White – 540°F / 282°C

These options improved my sessions and allowed me to find what worked best for me. Adjusting the temperature helped me discover the ideal flavor and potency.

Heating Chamber Review

The heating chamber is key to how well this e-rig works. It uses an induction heating system with plain cups. These cups make great vapor and are easy to fill and clean. Unlike other e-rig atomizers on the market, these cups don’t need to be replaced unless they are mishandled or damaged. The chamber is 300% bigger than the original Switch, about 20mm wide, giving you plenty of room for your concentrates. It heats up evenly, so you get smooth and tasty hits.

The magnetic carb cap also doesn’t have a tether, which means you can use it freely without feeling restricted. Plus, the rubber grip on top helps you avoid burns, but be careful because it can get hot to touch after multiple consecutive uses.

Vapor Quality Review

The vapor quality is where this electric rig really shines. The Omni-Directional Heating heats the cup evenly, similar to a 3D chamber, and the size is impressive. Each session delivers smooth, flavorful vapor. The air path is made from Alumina Ceramic, a big upgrade from the silicone or plastic found in most e-rigs. The flavors are rich and well-preserved, letting me enjoy the flavor of my wax. If I were to compare the smoothness to the Puffco pro, I would confidently say it is definitely better if not at par and I am being conservative.

I found this mode the flavor was consistent throughout and surprisingly good even by the end of the heat cycle which usually isn’t the case with regular e-rigs.
• Steady Mode: Keeps the temperature constant throughout your session, ensuring smooth hits every time. I found this mode produces massive clouds and a bit harsh past 500°F / 260°C.
• Ascent Mode: Starts at a lower temperature and gradually increases, enhancing flavor at the beginning and finishing with satisfying clouds.

Dr. Dabber clearly understands what dab enthusiasts want, combining the best of traditional rigs with the convenience of an electric dab rig.

Battery Life Review

I was really impressed with the battery life. It has 3 x 3,000 mAh lithium-ion batteries, which means it offers a total of 9,000 mAh. With this battery, you can easily get 40 to 45 heat cycles on just one charge depending on your settings and temperature ranges.

The device comes with a USB-C charger, and I noticed that it charges pretty quickly in about an hour. One great feature is the pass-through charging, which lets me keep using it while it’s plugged in.

However, if you’re searching for something super compact, you might want to check out smaller options like the Dr. Dabber Boost Evo or Wax Pens. 

How to Clean Your Dr. Dabber Switch 2

Keeping your e-rig clean is important for good flavor and performance and it’s very easy. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Take It Apart
First, carefully remove the glass bubbler. Next, detach the aluminum top from the main unit, and then remove the quartz insert cup.

Step 2: Clean the Quartz Cup
Wipe away any leftover residue from the quartz cup using cotton swabs. For a deeper clean, soak the cup in 99% isopropyl alcohol or Orange Chronic cleaner for about 10 minutes, then rinse it with warm water.

Step 3: Clean the Glass Bubbler
Wash the glass bubbler with 99% isopropyl alcohol or warm, soapy water. Make sure to clean off well before putting it back together.

Step 4: Clean the Induction Heater
Soak cotton swabs in 99% isopropyl alcohol and clean the top of the induction heater where the quartz cup inserts, as well as the air pathway.

Step 6: Clean Ceramics Air Pathway
To clean the ceramic air pathway, use an ISO-soaked stick to gently wipe away any residue or buildup, ensuring a clear and unobstructed airflow for optimal performance.

Step 7: Wipe the Main Unit
Use a damp cloth or alcohol soaked wipes to gently wipe the outside of the main unit, but be careful not to get water near the electrical parts.

Step 8: Put It Back Together
Once everything is dry, reassemble the device and store it safely for your next use.

• After Every Use: Clean the induction cup with an ISO Cleaning Sticks to keep your device working well and tasting great. Use the tweezers that come with the device to handle the quartz inserts, as they can break easily. Always let the device cool down before handling hot parts.
• For Glass Bubbler: Clean the bubbler with 99% isopropyl alcohol or Orange Chronic cleaner, and rinse it well with water.

Important: Don’t use isopropyl alcohol on the outside of the Switch 2, as it can damage the surface. Instead, use a damp cloth with a little dish soap, making sure to avoid the charging port.
