Utillian 722 Heating System and Chamber Size

The Utillian 722 uses a straightforward stainless steel oven underneath its magnetic mouthpiece.  It can hold up to 0.3 grams of finely ground cannabis which is about average these days. As the 722 uses a convection heating system, you’ll notice that the bottom of the oven has more air holes than you might be used to.

On the bottom side of the vape, you’ll notice the air intake ports to indicate the straight-shot air path right to the chamber and then up through the mouthpiece. Convection vaporizers tend to have a cleaner high and more even cannabis extraction, so it’ll be a noticeable upgrade if you’re switching from a conduction vaporizer. As another plus, the 722 keeps this normally premium feature to a minimal cost.

How to use the Utillian 722?

Just like the other vaporizers in the Utillian lineup, the 722 is extremely easy to use, as all of the operations come from one button and LED lights which will help to display information. Let’s take a look at how it works:

  1. Just pop off the top, load your herbs, and hit the single button five times.
  2. The device will automatically begin heating up
  3. While the unit is on, two clicks of the power button will let you toggle through the temperature settings.
  4. in less than 30 seconds your set temperature will be reached and the flashing light will turn solid
  5. Pressing and holding the button will put the Utillian 722 into its boost mode. This will quickly heat the unit to a maximum 225°C/437°F.

With the swivel-style mouthpiece and the vape only being made from two parts, the 722 is hands-down one of the easiest dry herb vaporizers to use, especially for beginners

722 Temperature Settings

There are four pre-set temperatures on the 722:

  •  180°C, 190°C, 200°C, and 210°C

These temperatures are color-coded in the same order as Green, Blue, Purple, and Red. While some people might prefer precision temperature control on a screen, it’s very easy to get the hang of the changing colors and what temperature they represent. As most people tend to vape at one temperature anyways, most people will find the pre-sets just fine.

Utillian 722 Boosted Temperature

As the final addition to the pre-set temperatures, you’ll be able to use a temperature boost by pressing and holding the power button which is indicated by the light flashing red. The boost mode quickly heats the device to 225°C/437°F and is a great way to finish off your session.

If you find that your bud is no longer producing any vapor, just use the boost function, and you’ll be able to get the last drop out of your THC crystals!

Utillian 722 Vapor Quality

The flavor and smoothness of the Utillian 722 vapor are solid and very consistent. It’s not the absolute best when it comes to vapor quality and taste, but it is definitely above average & for a budget convection vaporizer, we’re pretty happy with this unit. As far as vapor cloud production, you would be hard-pressed to find a vaporizer that produces bigger clouds than the 722.

There is a trick to getting really good vapor with the 722. Fill up the chamber but don’t pack it too tight as it can reduce airflow and you don’t want to restrict the airflow. Turn the unit on at 190°C/374°F or 200°C/392°F, wait until it heats up, then take steady long draws between 5-7 seconds long and you’ll feel your lungs fill up with milky vapor! We found we got great vapor with this method even at 180°C/356°F.

For the price of this budget portable vaporizer and what it is, we were happy with the vapor flavor and smoothness and very impressed with its cloud production.

Pair the 722 with a Whip Bubbler

An excellent way of upgrading vapor quality with the Utillian 722 is by attaching a whip bubbler to the chamber. More specifically, the 14mm Whip Bubbler, as it fits perfectly into the mouthpiece slot. It will add not only a smooth and enjoyable experience but a variety of setups to your 722 vaping that weren’t there before.

Utillian 722 Dosing Capsules

Although there are no official dosing capsules for the 722, the XMAX V3 Pro has the exact same-sized chamber and you’ll be able to use its dosing capsules in your 722! If you’re into concentrates and dabbing, you’ll want to pick up a few Utillian 722 Wax Canisters. It hits pretty hard as you can see in the demo below.

They have a funneled design that you can load a small amount of dabs into and vaporize effectively on a higher temperature setting. For extra portability with normal ground flower use, also be sure to pick up some XMAX V3 Pro Dosing Capsules which will keep the chamber extra clean and make reloading sessions a breeze!

Utillian 722 battery life

The 2300mah battery on the Utillian 722 will last you about an hour of usage. There is an LED light at the bottom of the 722 that indicates your battery life starting from green being fully charged to yellow half charged and red meaning only 10% of battery left before the device runs out of juice.

We’ve seen longer battery life like the Zeus ARC GTS with 1.5 hours or the Arizer Air MAX with 2+ hours, but those units come with a higher price tag. The battery isn’t swappable and is charged via micro-USB, which definitely isn’t our favorite

Utillian 722 Vaporizer Portability

While the 722 vaporizer isn’t the smallest Portable Vaporizer there, it’ll still be able to fit into most pockets & has a design that is square and very comfortable in the hand. Compared to the older model, the 722 seems sleeker with a better build that is comprised of a rubberized aluminum coating.

If you’re a heavy user or are just looking for a great way to protect your Utillian 722, be sure to check out the water and wear-resistant Stashlogix Silverton as it will also let you store a ton of vaping accessories.

The 722 and the Crafty+ are about the same size!

Utillian 722 discreetness

As far as discreetness goes, it doesn’t stand out as being an obvious vaporizer as it can be relatively concealed in the palm of your hand. However, the vapor production is high with this one, especially on the high-temp. settings. You will be blowing large clouds with the 722 which could draw quite a bit of attention unless you’re intentionally operating the unit at lower temps and taking shorter draws.

Choose your color

There are two color options to choose from – black and gunmetal. The black version has a rubberized finish, while the gunmetal version has a solid aluminum exterior. For such an affordable price, we were impressed with the build quality of the Utillian 722.

Either color is going to be very stealthy in public, especially since the convection heating will reduce the scent of your vaporizing – Again, just be wary of the size of your clouds!

How to clean the Utillian 722?

Like all of the units from Utillian vapes, the 722 is easy to keep clean. Just take some cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol to the mouthpiece and the heating chamber. Doing this will remove bacteria and debris. If you are looking for a way to keep your vapes clean without having to dip your cotton swabs in alcohol.

Check out these vaporizer cleaning sticks to make your life easier. Especially when compared to the seven total parts of the Crafty+ mouthpiece to clean, the 722 is super easy and quick to maintain!

Utillian 722 Tips and Tricks

  • The best hits come with the 190°C/374°F and 200°C/392°F settings to start your session and with boost mode finishing it off.
  • Use a fine grind, but don’t overly compress the chamber
  • Take long and slow inhales
  • Heavy users may want to bring a Micro-USB charging bank with them on the go
  • Try the 722 with a globe whip bubbler

Who’s the Utillian 722 for?

The 722 is best suited for beginners looking to pick up a high-quality vaporizer without breaking the bank. It’s exceptionally easy to use and pumps out consistently big clouds. In other words, it’s hard to screw up because of how straightforward the design is. For connoisseurs, you’ll really appreciate its versatility if you pick up some of the dosing capsules as it can do both dabs and flower in a portable design.

Who’s the Utillian 722 not for?

The 722 is kind of in a middle ground as it’s one of the best mid-tier vaporizers. People looking for a premium device might be happier with an Arizer Air MAX.

Some of the drawbacks on the 722 like non-swappable batteries and limited viable accessories might be a downer for people that love to customize their sessions with things like different mouthpieces and bubblers

Is the Utillian 722 worth it?

For a device that is this affordable, the Utillian 722 vaporizer is an excellent choice for newbies and connoisseurs looking for a convection device that can vape both concentrates and flowers.

The vapor flavor and quality aren’t the absolute best on the market when it comes to portable vaporizers, but it is extremely consistent and can pump out massive clouds. The fact that the boost function can extract THC better than most other devices on the market is just the cherry on top.
