If you’ve been looking for a feature-rich portable dry herb vaporizer, the XLUX Roffu has an interesting combination of true convection heating, precise temperature control, Session and On-Demand modes, and a replaceable battery.

Its aluminum body, ceramic cooling unit, OLED display, and removable chamber inserts give it a more premium feel than many budget convection vaporizers. Those features also make it competitive with some of the models in our Best Portable Dry Herb Vaporizers guide.

Since Tools420 doesn’t currently carry the Roffu, the XMAX V3 Pro is the closest value-focused alternative I’d compare first. It also offers convection heating, Session and On-Demand modes, precise temperature control, USB-C charging, an OLED display, and a swappable 18650 battery.

If you’re willing to spend a little more for simpler operation and strong convection performance, the Utillian 723 is another solid alternative. XLUX Roffu Manufacturing Quality

The Roffu immediately feels more premium than many budget portable vaporizers. Its aluminum body has a glossy finish, while the magnetic mouthpiece and removable cooling unit give the device a clean, modern look.

The removable chamber system is one of the more interesting parts of the design. You can use either the glass or stainless-steel insert, and having a second chamber ready can make back-to-back sessions more convenient.

The magnetic cooling-unit design borrows ideas you’ll recognize from other premium portable vaporizers, but the Roffu combines them in a fairly unique layout.

The included loading tool and funnel are also useful because the removable chamber can otherwise be slightly awkward to fill. The OLED screen finishes off the design nicely and makes temperature, battery level, and mode information easy to see.

The Roffu uses true convection heating and is designed for dry herb. It offers both Session and On-Demand modes, which gives you more flexibility than a typical session-only portable vaporizer.

How Big Is the XLUX Roffu?

The Roffu is compact enough to sit comfortably in your palm and fits easily into most pockets. Despite its aluminum construction and removable battery, it doesn’t feel excessively bulky for a convection vaporizer.

The removable herb chambers are roughly comparable in size to a Storz & Bickel dosing capsule, although the Roffu uses its own chamber system.

XLUX Roffu Vapor Quality

One of the Roffu’s biggest strengths is its powerful convection heating and the ability to choose between stainless-steel and glass chamber inserts.

It can reach its maximum temperature of 428°F / 220°C in under 20 seconds. Between the two operating modes, I generally preferred Session Mode with the stainless-steel chamber because it provided denser, more sustained vapor.

At temperatures above roughly 410°F, I found that the stainless-steel chamber produced very dark extraction, so I’d increase the temperature gradually rather than immediately running long sessions near maximum heat.

The glass chamber provides slightly cleaner flavor, while the stainless-steel insert heats more aggressively and holds onto heat longer between draws.

The mouthpiece sits directly above the chamber and uses a ceramic top with a winding cooling path underneath. Cooling is adequate rather than exceptional, but airflow is fairly open and the Roffu can generate a surprising amount of vapor without much draw resistance.

If you’re primarily interested in cloud production from a portable convection vaporizer, the Roffu performs well. Flavor-focused users will probably prefer the glass insert and lower temperatures.

Battery life varies significantly with temperature and operating mode, but the replaceable design is the more important advantage. Instead of waiting for the vaporizer to recharge, you can carry a charged spare battery or use a compatible external charger.

During USB-C charging, the battery icon shows charging progress and stops flashing once the device reaches a full charge.

Being able to replace the battery also improves the Roffu’s long-term usability because you’re not forced to retire the entire vaporizer when the original battery eventually loses capacity.

How to Use the XVAPE Roffu

Press the power button five times to turn the Roffu on. In Session Mode, the vaporizer automatically begins heating toward your last selected temperature.

To switch to On-Demand Mode, hold the up and down buttons at the same time. In this mode, the heater activates only while you’re holding the power button.

Press the power button five times again when you’re ready to turn the vaporizer off.

Other useful controls include:

• Use the appropriate button combination to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
• Press the power button twice to view the puff counter.
• Use the up and down buttons to adjust the temperature.

To load the Roffu, remove the magnetic mouthpiece and choose either the stainless-steel or glass chamber insert.

The removable chamber can be slightly awkward to fill directly, so the included loading funnel is helpful. Load roughly 0.2g of medium-ground herb and tamp it lightly enough to keep airflow open.

After a session, let the chamber cool before removing it. Trying to immediately swap or refill a hot metal insert is one of the less convenient parts of the Roffu design.

Between the two included chamber options, the stainless-steel insert heats faster and retains more heat between draws. The glass chamber takes a little longer to respond but gives me slightly cleaner flavor at lower temperatures.

If flavor is your priority, start with the glass chamber and a lower temperature. If you’re more interested in dense extraction and quick sessions, the stainless-steel chamber works better.

You can also experiment with how tightly you pack the chamber. Convection vaporizers need airflow through the herb, so avoid compressing the material too tightly.

How to Clean the XLUX Roffu

The main components that need regular cleaning are the removable chamber, metal screens, cooling unit, and the areas around the mouthpiece where vapor residue collects.

Remove the chamber and cooling-unit components before cleaning. Avoid soaking rubber, silicone, electronic, or battery components in isopropyl alcohol.

For removable metal and glass components that the manufacturer allows to be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, use a short soak or wipe-down and allow everything to dry completely before reassembly.

The glass chamber tends to show discoloration more quickly at higher temperatures. If that bothers you, the stainless-steel chamber hides buildup better and is easier to maintain visually.

For stubborn chamber residue, a vape cleaning wipe works well, while an ISO cleaning stick is useful for the screen, cooling unit, and other tight areas.

Final Thoughts

The XLUX Roffu is a well-built true-convection dry herb vaporizer with useful features such as Session and On-Demand modes, precise temperature control, removable chamber inserts, an OLED screen, and a replaceable battery.

Its biggest problem is value. The aluminum construction, ceramic cooling unit, and interchangeable chambers feel premium, but they don’t create a dramatic enough improvement in vapor quality to separate it from less expensive convection vaporizers.

If you’re mainly interested in convection heating, On-Demand mode, precise temperature control, and a replaceable battery, I’d choose the XMAX V3 Pro first because it delivers a remarkably similar feature set for substantially less money.

If you’re willing to spend a little more and prefer straightforward controls, a larger chamber, and strong convection performance, the Utillian 723 is the better step up.

For users who want significantly more power, airflow control, and a premium hybrid session, the Utillian 850 is the more substantial upgrade.
