XMAX V3 Pro Review Video
Is the XMAX V3 Pro worth it?
If you’ve been looking for a portable and affordable convection dry herb vaporizer, the XMAX V3 Pro is definitely something to look into. With a durable aluminum body, LED screen, and concentrate abilities, there is a whole lot to love & in this review, we’ll be diving into these key features and more to help you decide if the device is right for you & also whether or not it’s earned a spot on our list of the Best Dry Herb Vapes.
XMAX V3 Pro Key Features
Despite being a budget dry herb vaporizer, the XMAX V3 Pro is seriously jam-packed with up-to-date features that make it really swing above its weight class. It has an aluminum body and an LED screen similar to the Arizer Vaporizers, and you’ll have access to a magnetic mouthpiece, accurate temperature control, and an easy-to-use interface.Reliable Convection Heating System
As convection vaporizers generally have a nicer vapor flavor due to less roasting of your dry herb when standing by compared to conduction, the XMAX V3 Pro is comparable to much more expensive vaporizers like the Storz & Bickel Venty Vaporizer, Veazy or Davinci IQ3. For connoisseurs, they will really appreciate the on-demand aspect to get a lot of terpene profiles in their hits, especially if vaping terpenes is important to you.Lastly, one of the coolest unique features is the integrated stir stool on the detachable mouthpiece which you can use to knock AVB out of the bowl.
XMAX V3 Pro Session Mode
With a unique pure convection oven and precision temperature control, the V3 Pro is a very unique device in the market for its low price. You can pick any temperature between 100°C – 220°C (212°F – 428°F), and it heats up in just 15–20 seconds.
It’s a 2-in-1 vaporizer, meaning you can use it with both dry herb and concentrates. You can also choose between two heating modes: on-demand or session mode – both use convection heating.
In session mode, the convection heating will always be on and will heat your dry herb continually in as little as 15 seconds, depending on your set temperature and battery charge level. This mode will work better for saving the battery or for fully clearing the bowl.
XMAX V3 Pro On-Demand Mode
In on-demand mode, heating lasts for up to 30 seconds at a time and is activated by holding down the power button.
The first few hits might feel lighter since the 30-second timer may not fully heat your herb right away. But no worries—you can simply activate it again for a stronger session.
Overall, the fast heat-up and convection heating make the V3 Pro a solid pick if you’re looking for a portable vape with better control over your herb and more efficient extraction.
XMAX V3 Pro Portable Design

XMAX V3 Pro Wax Concentrate Cup
The V3 Pro comes with a wax canister, so you can enjoy your favorite concentrates in this versatile 2-in-1 vaporizer. For dabs, we recommend using the highest temperature setting—428°F (220°C)—and giving it a bit more time to heat up in session mode compared to a standard wax pen. Since the wax cup can get dirty fairly quickly, it’s a smart idea to grab a spare. To clean it, just soak it in isopropyl alcohol or gently torch it to burn off any leftover residue.
XMAX V3 Pro Dry Herb Dosing Capsules
With the new XMAX V3 Pro Dry Herb Dosing Capsules, you can preload up to five sessions, making your vape even more portable and convenient. While the capsules slightly restrict airflow compared to using the chamber directly, they still offer solid performance—plus, they help keep your oven clean and make reloading quick and easy. A helpful tip: try running your temperature about 20°F higher than usual when using the capsules. This helps the stainless steel warm up properly for better vapor quality. If you’re a heavier user, you might also want to grab a Vape Case to carry your capsules, mouthpieces, and accessories all in one organized spot.
XMAX V3 Vapor Quality
As mentioned, the convection heating delivers excellent vapor quality. The only downside is that the short distance between the chamber and mouthpiece can make the vapor quite hot.
To get the best experience, try taking slow, long draws lasting 20 seconds or more at a lower temperature than usual. If you go higher, the vapor can become too hot and less enjoyable.

Good THC Extraction
Compared to most other budget vaporizers, the VMAX3 vaporizer is incredibly efficient at cooking you weed! You’ll be able to clear its bowl in under five minutes without even trying and your ABV will always be a dark brown meaning you’ve extracted almost 100% of your cannabis THC. This is a nice thing for heavy users to know as it means maximum efficiency.

What’s the XMAX V3 Pro Battery Life?
While we were able to get about six or seven sessions in session mode, or about 4 in on-demand mode. The XMAX V3 Pro comes equipped with a 18650 battery with 2600mAh capacity that can easily be accessed and swapped to avoid the 2 hour charge time.
USB-C Charging Port
Swappable 18650 Battery
As the included 2600mAh battery doesn’t seem to be the best, we recommend picking up a spare 18650 battery to be able to get more battery life and faster heat-up times. At the very least, you’ll have a second battery to swap if you run out of juice on the go. A battery charging pack would be another great working alternative!
Solid Manufacturing Quality
The body of the vape is made from solid aluminum that has a nice and sturdy feel in the hand. The LED screen and buttons are easy to use and understand and will display all the information you’ll need like the temperature, session timer, and battery level.
How to Use XMAX V3 Pro?
In terms of buttons, there is a power, up, and down button.- To begin, simply remove the magnetic mouthpiece and load your medium grind into the 0.25g chamber. Then, reseal it and turn the vape on
- To power the vape on, just press the power button three times.
- From there, it will automatically begin heating to your last session’s temperature as set by the up and down arrows.
- To change between session and on-demand mode, all you’ll have to do is press the up and down arrows for two seconds.
- Haptic feedback will let you know when your temperature has been reached. Automatically, once powered on, the V3 Pro will be in on-demand mode.

We like to stamp the chamber down with our pinky
- The normal auto-off timer in session mode will be set to four minutes, but you can change this to six minutes by holding the power button and up buttons for two seconds.
- You’ll also be able to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit by holding the power button and down arrow for two seconds.
- Once you’re done with your session, you can use the mouthpiece pick tool to knock out the chamber, or stir it for another session if your herb isn’t fully extracted
Best XMAX V3 Pro Portable Vaporizer Tips and Tricks
- Similar to the AirVape Legacy Pro, the convection power of the XMAX V3 Pro portable vaporizer will work best with long and steady draws for better extraction.
- When using the on-demand session mode, you’ll have to be aware of the 30-second timer window you’ll have to get your hit in.
- From our experiences, the on-demand mode was harder on the battery than the session mode.
XMAX V3 Pro Bubblers
If you pick up the XMAX V3 Pro Glass WPA, we had the most success using our 14mm globe bubbler with its included whip attachment. It really cranked the vapor quality through the roof and the reduced draw resistance was super satisfying with enjoyable clouds to match.
- We found the best temperature for vape bubblers with the V3P to be a cool 185C / 365F, utilizing super long inhales of up to fifteen seconds!
Use Long and Slow inhales!
The vapor production isn’t as strong as the Venty Vaporizer, but you can still get big clouds by taking longer draws. The longer you inhale, the more hot air passes through your herb, creating more vapor. For the best results with the V3 Pro, we recommend this slow and steady inhale style—short sips won’t produce much vapor. To do this, fully exhale first, then gently inhale from the mouthpiece for about ten seconds.
Available Mouthpiece Upgrades
With the X MAX V3 Pro, you’ll have a total of five different mouthpieces to choose from. This amount of customization is unheard of, especially for such a cheap Portable Vaporizer.
Left to right: silicone WPA, glass mp, 14mm WPA, bubbler, (stock on device)
- XMAX V3 Pro Plastic Mouthpiece (stock)
- XMAX V3 Pro Glass Mouthpiece
- XMAX V3 Pro Glass Bubbler
- XMAX V3 Pro Glass 14mm Bong Adapter
- XMAX V3 Pro Silicone Bong Adapter 14mm/18mm
XMAX V3 Pro maintenance
When you first get your V3 Pro, you can give everything a quick wipe with vape cleaning wipes, and then running a max temperature session sanitation burn off to make sure there’s nothing leftover from the manufacturing process. Once you get your vaporizer up and running, you can perform routine maintenance by knocking out your AVB (Already Vaped Bud) after every session to prevent unnecessary resin buildup. A nice part of the Pro’s kit is that it comes with some included alcohol wipes and Q-Tips which you can clean the oven chamber and mouthpiece screen for small amounts of resin.
How to Deep Clean the XMAX V3 Pro?
Once a month or so, it is a good practice to give your device a more thorough cleaning. If you notice your device’s airflow is less than normal, you can also fully disassemble the mouthpiece and soak the inserts in a 70-90% isopropyl alcohol bath for 30 minutes before a gentle scrub and hot water rinse. The design of the V3 Pro makes cleaning a bit tricky. If you skip cleanings, performance drops noticeably. Honestly, it’s a pain to clean all the nooks and crannies properly, but staying on top of it really helps keep your vaporizer working well. After any kind of cleaning, let everything fully dry before beginning to use your vaporizer to prevent any unnecessary damage by water leaking into the chamber.

XMAX V3 Pro vs POTV XMAX V3 Pro
POTV worked with XMAX to change a few details to their liking. Their kit comes with a dosing capsule, a brush, a glass mouthpiece, and 3200mAh battery compared to the stock 2600mAh battery. For these changes, the difference is about $30 more than the XMAX V3 Pro.XMAX / TopGreen Manufacturer Reputation & Warranty
XMAX will cover any workmanship and defect issues for the V3 Pro with a one-year manufacturer warranty. Plus, they are very responsive to emails and won’t leave you in the dark like some of the bigger manufacturers. XMAX has been steadily growing in popularity in recent years with very solid vaporizer releases like the V3 Pro and XMAX Qomo E-Rig. They are active on community forums, have excellent customer service, and are always working to improve and release new accessories for their vapes. For this reason, we love working with them and can gladly recommend them as a top vape manufacturer. If you’re still on the fence, hopefully this was the last nudge you needed!
Final Thoughts
As you saw in our XMAX V3 Pro vaporizer review, this vape offers a lot for its price. It’s an on-demand portable convection vaporizer with some great features. It has a swappable 18650 battery, USB-C charging, different session modes, and a wax canister. These extras make it stand out compared to other dry herb vapes in the same price range.
People who know their vapes will like the smooth vapor from the convection oven. Beginners might find the temperature settings and session modes a bit tricky at first, but the buttons and clear LED screen make it easy to use overall.
The on-demand mode will be a great asset for micro-dosers, and veterans will love using a bubbler at high temperatures for huge clouds that still have good taste! The only slight criticism we can think of for this great device is similar to complaints that we have heard from customers about their firefly vapes; that long inhales can be a bit harsher for medicinal patients, or annoying for those looking for fast sessions.
