We’ve reviewed some of the devices from the Yocan brand in the past – like the Yocan Evolve Plus. We weren’t overly impressed with the concentrate vapes from Yocan vapes, but they weren’t bad at all. Yocan vapes put out mostly wax pens, but the Evolve 2.0 vapes wax, oils, and e-juice with its versatile pod-style style. Today we take a look at this device and break down its strengths and weaknesses. Keep on reading our Yocan Evolve 2.0 review for all the details.

How to use the Yocan Evolve 2.0?
The Yocan Evolve 2.0 is about as easy as it gets when it comes to concentrate vapes. Most budget wax pens and oil pod vapes are no-brainers to use, as this is the case with the Yocan Evolve 2.0 as well. Powering up the unit takes a standard five clicks, and cycling through the temperatures takes two clicks. You can also remove each mouthpiece to fill with your concentrate of choice.
A nice feature with the Yocan Evolve 2.0 is the fact that it has a 10-second long pre-heat function. To use this feature, just click the button twice. Simple!
Yocan Evolve 2.0 Temperature Settings
The good news is that there are three different temperature settings with the Yocan Evolve 2.0. The bad news is that the Yocan brand doesn’t give us any information as to what they are. This is not really an issue when it comes to vaping waxy concentrates, but it is when it comes to consuming oil. It is highly important that consumers understand what temperature/ voltage setting they are in order to get the most out of their vaping experience.
The three settings are decently calibrated and offer a good variety of intensity when it comes to hits, but the fact that there isn’t really any indication as to what they are is a bit of an issue. The fact that we don’t know what the settings are makes it a bit difficult to recommend the best vape setting. However, as a general rule of thumb for all vaporizers, we would suggest that most consumers use the middle temperature – especially newbies.
Yocan Evolve 2.0 Vapor Quality
With a budget pod-style vape, sometimes you will get good vapor quality, and sometimes you won’t. Depending on who you ask, the Yocan Evolve 2.0 produces average vapor flavor across the board. We thought there was a noticeable difference in quality with the wax pod compared to the other two. The two oil pods tasted a bit better and produced decently sized clouds.
The wax pod left something to be desired as far as taste and smoothness. Because the best wax vape hits need temperatures that are higher than that of oil, it makes sense that the wax pod would underperform as far as vapor quality and production. Because the Evolve 2.0 concentrate vape from Yocan vapes is such a small device, the vapor path is small as well. This can be rather harsh on your throat, especially at the highest setting – so be mindful of that.
If you are in the market for a wax pen that will give you really high-quality flavor and much more flavor, get yourself a Utillian 5. It’s one of the best wax pens.
How long does the Yocan Evolve 2.0 battery last?
Budget wax pens and concentrate vapes tend to come standard with a 650mah battery and the same is true for the Evolve 2.0 concentrate vape from Yocan vapes. Considering how small this pod-style vape is, that battery isn’t bad at all. Most consumers will get about 5 solid sessions on a single charge.
The battery isn’t removable, and batteries always degrade over time. Once this happens with the Evolve 2.0 concentrate vape from Yocan vapes, it’s basically useless. If you want a wax pen with a bigger battery that has a lot more juice, check out the Tronian Gammatron.
Aesthetics and Manufacturing Quality
There have been a ton of budget pod-style vapes released within recent years, and the majority of them seem to come with a run-of-the-mill metallic finish. The same is true with the Evolve 2.0 concentrate vape from Yocan vapes. The build quality isn’t exactly super cheap, but it’s not terrible.
One of the best parts of the manufacturing quality is the fact that there is a window by the mouthpiece which allows you to see the level of concentrates you have. This is a good addition that not all vapes give you. You can pick from four colors – back, silver, gold, and pink. We think the silver one looks the best.
There are three atomizers included with the Yocan Evolve 2.0 – a dual quartz atomizer for wax and two ceramic atomizers for oils and e-juice. They aren’t going to win any awards, but they aren’t bad, either.
The Evolve 2.0 is decent looking for what it is, but we think a wax pen like its brand-mate the Yocan Evolve Plus XL just looks more attractive.
Is the Yocan Evolve 2.0 portable?
The fact that the Evolve 2.0 concentrate vape from Yocan vapes is about the height and width of two pinky fingers, it lends itself to being highly portable. However, if you are going out and you plan to change out one pod for the other, it can get a bit annoying to carry around all three. This water and wear-resistant vape case from Tools420 will help you keep all of the pods and the battery together in one place.
The discreetness factor is also pretty high with the Yocan Evolve 2.0 because it’s so small and looks like your typical e-juice vape. The cloud production isn’t that high and neither is the smell factor, so you should be able to take nice rips while you’re out and about without drawing too much attention.
What’s in the Yocan Evolve 2.0 kit?
There isn’t a lot to write home about when it comes to accessories for the Evolve 2.0 concentrate vape from Yocan vapes. You get the battery, the three pods (concentrate, oil, e-juice) a USB charger and an owner’s manual. It would have been nice to see something like a dab tool thrown in with the kit.
How to clean the Yocan Evolve 2.0?
You can swab the mouthpiece with Q-Tips dipped in isopropyl alcohol to remove bacteria from this pod-style vape, but that’s about it. You might want to do this if you’re vaping socially, but this isn’t really a device to be passed around. Once each of the pods/ carts inevitably degrade, we recommend just getting rid of them and replacing them with a new one. They aren’t really worth trying to salvage.
Bottom Line
The Evolve 2.0 concentrate vape from Yocan vapes is highly portable and offers versatility in concentrate vaping. For this reason, it will probably be a great choice for beginners. It should have a higher setting to help vape waxes better. It seems to us that the Yocan brand made an oil and e-juice vape and just threw in the capability to vape waxes.
The oil and e-juice pods are okay. However, experienced consumers will likely be disappointed with the vapor quality of all three pods. If you want a wax pen that vapes 510-threaded carts at a similar price but with better vapor quality, we recommend the G Pen Micro+.

Hi Chad, the light is around the on/off button. It’s a bit hard to see but you can see it if you look closely.
I love this vape so far. But I try charging it and I see no lights pop up? How do I know if it’s charging or not? It hits really well and super smooth for the most part.
Please take a look at the Cleaning section to guide you through cleaning of the Evolve 2.
Sure thing, look out for that review soon. 🙂
Handy and cute little oil vape, definitely works really well! I always carry a few pods to switch out between at different times. One for e-juice, one pod for wax, and one for oil. I can tell you that the wax pod doesn’t perform quite as well as I would like it to, however the juice and oil waxes do great!
I do a DIY THC e-juice and have my own distilled oil for the cartridges and they work really nicely with this vape. Don’t get me wrong, the Evolve 2 doesn’t really compete with my full sized rigs and proper vapes, but for the tiny size and how effective it is, I really enjoy it! Solid unit.
Figured I would drop my little review here. I think it’s a solid little device and what my Mighty vaporizer cannot do, this little one can! I use e-liquid very rarely same with oils but use wax the most. Its nice to have the option to use the other two for sure though. With wax it outperforms my Mighty vape by a loooong shot, definitely way way better for wax. Delicious, hard hits, perfect for going out and keeping a low profile!
Can the Yocan evolve 2 work with weed??
No it is pod system and it is only compatible with pods.
I bought the Yocan Evolve 2 after some people on Reddit recommended it to me and I think it’s a fairly solid device! It’s small, inexpensive, but hits above its weight class in my opinion. I don’t really ever use e-liquid so it’s not so important for me and I just wanted a simple easy to use 2-in-1 vape for oil and wax.
Small, comfy, easy to use. Battery is ok, not so great for wax for the battery. The wax pod works pretty well IMO but cleaning is a complete PITA. The device is really small and im pretty impressed by it overall. The pre heat function is super useful and helps me when using thick oils. Would recommend this vape with live resin or any high-end concentrates tho.
Bought 1 for my gf and she uses it all the time. Takes it everywhere its erally small looks good in her hand. Most importantly we get super baked off just a small bit of wax in the pod. Perfect for taking 2 the movies or to a cafe n stuff.
Can someone do a Kandypens rubi vs Yocan evolve 2 review pls?? really wondering how these units compare to each other.
hey I bought this and don’t know how to clean the Yocan evolve 2? Can you help me out I used some water and dish soap but that didn’t really do anything at all and now it tastes like dish soap when vaping I’m worried I ruined and broke the vape.
I see u guys sell the Bo One vape how does it compare to the Yocan Evolve 2 here? Thanks
How do you refill the pods on the Yocan Evolve 2? Can I use pods from other vape in the evolve 2?
