I’ve been testing the Pocket over the past week, and it’s clear that Yocan designed this pen to give users a balance of power, portability, and simplicity. It feels like a big step forward compared to the usual budget wax pens that cut corners on performance. Instead, the Pocket feels more like a premium vaporizer at an affordable price. That said, it is not perfect, and we’ll go through the areas where it falls short.

Design and Build

The Pocket has a short pen-style design that’s comfortable to hold and easy to slip in a pocket or bag. Its brushed aluminum body feels solid, while the soft silicone mouthpiece is gentle on the lips.

Its look is quite similar to the Puffco Pivot and it’s almost the same size as the Dr. Dabber Ghost 2.

On the front, there’s a small screen that shows temperature, session timer, and battery life. Right above it is a decorative LED strip that adds some flair, though it doesn’t actually display any info. 

At the bottom, you’ll find the USB-C charging port built alongside a silicone non-slip base. 

The Yocan Pocket Vaporizer also comes in several colors including black, blue, green, pink and silver.

Overall, the Pocket strikes a nice balance between style and function. It feels premium without being fragile, and its design choices make it both practical and enjoyable to use. In simple words, it is the best-designed Yocan vaporizer I have ever seen.

Vapor Quality and Mouthpiece

The Pocket’s 360° ceramic chamber heats your concentrates evenly, and the terp pearls keep your material moving to avoid hot spots.

What’s really impressive is the real-time temperature control. The built-in sensor keeps the heat steady. This is a feature usually only found in high-end $300+ e-rigs like the Puffco Peak Pro or Dr. Dabber Switch 2, but the Pocket delivers it at a much lower price.

While using the Yocan Black Pocket Vaporizer, I noticed some issues. Even with a small, grain-sized dab, a large amount spilled out of the chamber onto the edges and mouthpiece. This caused about 25–30% of the concentrate to be wasted. It’s something to keep in mind, especially if you use expensive concentrates like live rosins.

Overall, the Pocket delivers great flavor and big clouds. It gives smooth, tasty hits, and the ceramic chamber really brings out the terpenes for rich flavors. At higher temperatures, the clouds are impressively large. For under $100 dab pen, it’s excellent, smooth, and flavorful, making it one of the best budget concentrate vaporizers available.

Glass Terp Pearls for Better Dabs

The Pocket Vape comes with small 2–3mm glass terp pearls for its Cloud 3 ceramic chamber. They spin as you inhale, mixing your concentrate for smoother, more even hits.

This spinning helps in three ways:

• Better heat. The pearls hold heat and give it back to your wax for thicker, smoother hits.
• More efficient vaporization. They increase the surface area so your concentrate heats evenly and faster.
• Consistent flavor. Constant stirring reduces hot spots and keeps each hit smooth.

The kit comes with 12 pearls. You can use 2 or 3 at a time depending on your preference. The angled silicone mouthpiece also acts as a splash guard, keeping your pulls clean.

However, I noticed that the spinning pearls do not always rotate the airflow evenly. Most of the air is focused in one spot, which can make your hits splashy, wasting your concentrates.

Even with this small flaw, the terp pearl system is a smart upgrade that makes the Pocket feel more like a premium e-rig rather than just a budget pen. It is a simple feature that really improves performance and flavor.

The Pocket lets you set the temperature from 400°F to 580°F (204°C to 304°C), adjusting one degree at a time. 

Lower temperatures around 420°F to 450°F (215°C to 232°C) bring out more flavor, while higher temperatures near 500°F to 580°F (260°C to 304°C) produce bigger, thicker clouds.

The bright OLED screen shows temperature, battery level, and a session timer. You can also set the session length from 15 to 60 seconds. The device gives a gentle vibration when it powers on, reaches the set temperature, or ends a session.

The 1400mAh internal battery is strong for its size. On a full charge, it lasts for around 15 sessions, enough for a full day of heavy use or several days for lighter users. Charging takes about 90 minutes with USB-C, and pass-through charging lets you use the device while it charges. 

In use, the Pocket delivers smooth, flavorful hits at lower temperatures and satisfying clouds at higher temperatures. In testing, I did 5 to 6 sessions with 5 cycles of 20 seconds each, and the battery handled it well, covering 30 to 45 minutes of daily use. If long battery life and fast USB-C charging matter, buy Yocan Pocket to stay powered throughout the day without frequent recharging.

Overall, the combination of precise temperature control and dependable battery life makes the Pocket feel more like a premium vaporizer than a budget dab pen. The Pocket is truly pocket-friendly. It’s small, light, and sturdy enough for everyday use without needing a special case. You can easily slip it into jeans, a bag, or a jacket and carry it around without worry.

The silicone mouthpiece is a smart touch. Unlike glass, it won’t break or crack if tossed in a bag, making it safer for travel.

Ease of Use and Cleaning

The Pocket by Yocan is very beginner-friendly and easy to figure out. After a session or two, using the screen, adjusting temperature, and setting timers feels natural, whether you are new to dabs or experienced.

Loading concentrates is simple thanks to the carb cap on the mouthpiece. Since it is attached, you will not lose it, and it gives enough space to drop wax into the chamber. Silicone is not perfect for scraping sticky wax, so using a hot knife like a Utillian hot wax axe makes loading smooth and clean without leaving residue or affecting flavor. 

One thing to note is that when you are high, remembering button presses can be tricky. I even had to write them down on a piece of paper to change the temperature and set heating cycle timings.

The silicone mouthpiece is easy to remove for cleaning or direct chamber access. Cleaning is simple with the ceramic bucket. Just wipe it with an ISO cleaning stick.

The device can spill during use, so cleaning after each session is important to prevent gunk buildup. I recommend keeping an iso cleaning stick handy and wiping it after every use for long-term maintenance.

Overall, the Black Pocket keeps things stress-free. Loading is easy, cleaning does not take much effort, and with the right tools, it fits smoothly into a daily routine.

• Cloud-First (Hot Start): Start heating with an empty chamber. Once the device vibrates the second time, quickly load your concentrate and inhale immediately. This produces dense, instant vapor.
• Terp Pearl Magic: Always use the included terp pearls. Their movement in the spiral airflow boosts efficiency and flavor. Clean regularly with isopropyl alcohol to keep performance optimal.
