How to use the Flowermate Cap?

So the Flowermate CAP is mostly geared towards new users and so its operation is very simple. 5 clicks to turn it on, 3 clicks to cycle between the three temperature settings. Easy peasy. You have a basic 3-LED display to display temperature setting, and they are as follows.

Blue/low is 196°C/385°F, green is 205°C/400°F, and red is 215°C/420°F. This is okay but honestly, we would’ve liked to see a wider range with more settings. 195°C is a pretty high starting point and often we like starting out at 170°C for that sweet sweet herb flavor. 215°C is plenty high though and we like that.

Cleaning the device is super simple and the included brush cleaner will easily clear the chamber and mouthpiece screen. Once in a while you’ll want to soak the mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol to clear it from grime and residue. This is pretty simple and easy.

Flowermate CAP How it Works

Flowermate Cap Battery Life

So this is a really tiny device, and it makes sense that the battery life will only be alright. We can get around 3-5 sessions per charge right now which is actually fairly impressive given the size.

It charges by way of MicroUSB and takes less than an hour to top up fully. While the battery isn’t removable, we really don’t mind considering the tiny size and price of the device.

What’s the Flowermate Cap’s bowl size?

Almost every budget dry herb vape uses a ceramic conduction oven but the new Flowermate CAP uses a slight different black ceramic oven like on the Flowermate Slick which we found to be noticeably better than other ceramic conduction ovens.

The bowl size is best for personal use or for sharing with one friend. We estimate it to hold around 0.1-0.15 grams. You can’t change the size of the bowl but we can’t really see why you’d want to for this device.

It only takes around 20 seconds to warm up which is fairly impressive too! It can only really be used with dry herb, and we recommend a dedicated cannabis wax vape if you want to do dabs and stuff.

Flowermate Cap Vapor Quality

You know what, we’re pretty impressed! Surprisingly, the flavor is quite a bit better than other budget portables we’ve tried and the airflow is surprisingly open! The vapor production is pretty good but nothing mind blowing.

The cap of the unit hosts a zirconia cooling path which actually does very well at cooling the vapor before it reaches you. Color us impressed, we didn’t think it would do so much! The vapor path is also entirely isolated from the electronics which is nice!

We’d definitely say the herb is worth a stir halfway through a sesh to get better extraction. Overall though the Flowermate CAP is a real winner in the vapor quality category considering the size and price. It surely doesn’t compete with units like the Utillian 722 but it does pretty fine!

Is the Flowermate Cap portable?

52 grams. That’s it. This thing literally as much as 4 tablespoons of sugar… If that’s not impressive then I don’t even know what is. It’s tiny, light, and actually runs a risk of being lost in your pocket.

It’s 3 x 9.2 x 2.0 cm in size. Smaller than the Pax Plus, and about as stealthy as you could hope. The only downfall is the smell from using it (and other conduction vapes) is pretty noticeable. Not nearly as much smell from smoking, but still enough to stink up a room until you air it out.

Flowermate Vaporizers

Flowermate is a pretty solid company and they’ve put out over a dozen devices by now. They’ve all been reliable and simple, and we predict this to follow that reputation.  It’s well built, looks simple and nice, and we really have no complaints at all.

For the price it’ll be launched at, we’re fairly impressed and it represents solid value for the cost. It comes with a cleaning brush, stir tool, microUSB charger, and spare screens. There’s nothing else we really see needing, aside from a waterpipe adapter (Flowermate please!)

Who should buy the Flowermate Cap?

This device is excellent for beginners and new vaporists. It’s simple to use, effective, and very small. If you’re looking for one of the best portable and stealthy herb vapes around, this is your guy!

Too, it’s very beginner friendly and getting used to it is super simple. Honestly with how it performs, we can even see experienced users being satisfied if they want an ultralight, portable herb vape.

If you’re also on a budget and not so fond of the Dynavap M Plus then we definitely recommend this unit as it represents great value across the board.

Its battery life and bowl size though won’t quite satisfy for heavy users. For that we recommend bumping up your budget for something nice with a big bowl and battery, like the AirVape Legacy Pro.

Conclusion

This little device is pretty impressive given the size and price! While it still rocks a conduction oven, it has pretty solid flavor, nice hits, and packs away tiny! If you’re after one of the smallest dry herb vapes around, then it should be at the top of your list to look out for. As it is, it’s one of our favorite and best budget dry herb vapes we’ve gotten to test out!

If you’re a heavy hitter with a high tolerance and use frequently, then we don’t think something like this will quite fit the bill.

We hope this Flowermate CAP review helped you out and you’re able to decide whether or not it’s worth it.  If you’re still not sure, contact us on Reddit @ Tools420 or leave a comment on any of our pages and we’ll gladly get back to you as soon as we can!
